Day 30: Intercom, Morning
Suddenly, though not without warning, a shrill alarm blared through the halls and cafeteria, nearly deafening all who heard it.
"STAFF, WE ARE NOW IN LOCKDOWN MODE," the voice of the Head Doctor boomed out over the intercom. It seemed as if he'd cranked up the volume of his announcement, though it was at least drowning out the other noise. "I AM INITIATING THE FAILSAFE ON THE BELLIGERENT PATIENTS. PLEASE ESCORT THOSE NOT DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THE INSURGENCY TO THEIR ROOMS IMMEDIATELY. I REPEAT, WE ARE FOLLOWING EMERGENCY PROCEDURE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."
The intercom clicked off while the alarm persisted.
