It didn't stop the vampire from sidestepping through the doorway, taking Kyon by the elbow and yanking him around as well. In one glance, Aidou ascertained that the room was a laboratory--he knew the sight of one well, though it was not set at the same standards. In a lab, there came equipment and chemicals, but when it came to Aidou's goal, he could see nothing immediately untoward. Perhaps this place had seen Kyon's injection of "pureblood" manufactured here, perhaps not.
He saw nothing out of place but the cat, the sound of voices in the other rooms, the smell of chemical substances and standard issue cleaners... No, there was something that smelled a little different. If there hadn't already been a crush of people all around, the noble would have taken more time to pick apart each room as he came to it.
As it was, when it came down to three locked doors (two broken), Aidou chose the closest one that had not already been opened. The door heaved under the first kick.

As Aidou pulled and dragged him through to the next room, Kyon shook off that sudden ill feeling he was getting. Glancing up, he got an eyeful of the lab. Was this the place that his experimentation was planned? If so, what else was here?
Kyon started to walk around and look, but Aidou was kicking down a door. He sighed and followed after him. It was all he could do at the moment.

Even before he stepped inside with Kyon, he could smell it. Much like the putrid scent of the cat ready to pounce in the lab, this smell was one Aidou had come to associate with the nightmarish creations roaming around Landel's. Animal, and yet not. But this was somewhat... faint, though still fairly recent. Like the source had only just left.
He strode in.
