Carrying Hitsugaya would be a lot easier if he was awake to hold onto her... if they ended up leaving again before he regained consciousness, Hokuto was saying to hell with his dignity and ripping up a bedsheet to tie him to her back. It was how people used to carry toddlers before baby-backpacks became popular, and she would feel a lot better knowing he wasn't about to slip bonelessly to the floor if she moved wrong.
At the rate she kept seeing shinigami losing blood after just using their powers, she was going to need to know more first aid... when they got into the room she went to see about easing him onto a bed. So much for exploring the basement tonight, probably; oh, well, it would give Subaru time to demand answers when his twin wasn't bandaged up.

"Find a flashlight," Momo said as she took Hitsugaya from the girl. If his weight bothered her at all, it didn't show, and she carried him over to one of the beds. Laying Hitsugaya gently down, she caressed his cheek as she sat sown next to him. She smoothed his hair back and gently ran a thumb over one of his eyebrows.
Suddenly feeling self-conscious, Momo withdrew her hand and sighed. She glanced over to check Hokuto's progress. She hoped Signum and Saber were okay.

After a pause, she went to sit on the other bed; she might as well give the other two some space. Hitsugaya would hopefully wake up soon enough, and Momo seemed self-conscious enough about their relationship.
She wondered what the plan was now, since they might not be able to count on Signum and Saber showing up. Asking could wait, though; Momo might tell her without being prompted, and this didn't seem like the time to keep her talking.

"Let me have some light," she said. "Aim it at his chest."
Once the light reached the designated location, Momo went about checking Hitsugaya's vitals, her movements all indicating a level of caring that hadn't really been visible before. She knew what had happened, but she couldn't help it. She had to make sure there hadn't been something worse. Okay, maybe it was paranoia or a desperate need for him to be alright...
"Stupid," she muttered softly. "You should have let me cast it. You know my kidou is better suited to this place than yours..."

She had no idea what to do, but hopefully Momo did. As always, she'd do as told.

She began the incantation, searching for the right way to weave her reiatsu, when she cocked her head and the words trailed off. She shook her head a little to clear the cobwebs as she tried to remember exactly what it was that Artemis had said earlier about healing Hitsugaya.

"I wish I could remember exactly what he had said."

Farfarello's entrance was made silently and warily, simply out of habit. When he was sure the room didn't contain a threat, he relaxed slightly and spoke. "Slightly less than five minutes." When one spent a lot of time alone in a cell without a clock, one got very good at marking time in one's head.

"Right... now it's my turn," he murmured, walking over to his dresser. He emerged with a pill bottle in his hand--one that would be familiar to Farfarello. There was a curious gold along the outside. "Not that you aren't perfectly capable, Miss Momo--I just thought that the Captain might not want to have the first thing he sees be you bleeding at the nose or mouth." He couldn't make eye contact with anyone yet--he was still too embarrassed ( ... )

Putting the flashlight down, she put an arm across Artemis' shoulders as he started to move away. "It's okay," she said gently. "You don't have to be strong all the time." Subaru had been a little more willing to accept comfort and cuddles at 14 than at 17... and a lot more willing than he seemed to be at 18.
She was probably supposed to turn and bow to Hitsugaya, but--Momo had said it was okay to be casual. And this was important too.

Just grabbing the boy was probably not a good idea, though it was what Farfarello was inclined to do--but the shorties might take it as an act of violence and get all bitchy. He sighed, closing his eye for an instant and fighting for calm. Annoying, annoying, annoying, that's how this night was turning out so far. Like all the others here. Ugh.
"So, the captain's fine, can we move on, Artemis?" He couldn't keep the impatience out of his voice and he hovered near the door, ready to leave, now, okay?

This was a necessary evil, though. He stepped out of Hokuto's half-embrace towards Farfarello. "Well Captain," he said, his back still to Hitsugaya. His jaw was set in distaste--he should be looking at him. "As you can see I'm fine, so I'll be meeting with you in about an hour. Is this satisfactory?"
He didn't want to keep Farfarello waiting. The one-eyed assassin was probably annoyed enough right now.

He nodded slightly to Farfarello, as a sign of his appreciation, but that was it. Farfarello didn't seem particularly keen on being here, and there was no point in prolonging the uncomfortable and inevitable. "Noted. I'll see you then, Fowl. Don't be late." And don't get your dumbass killed. He turned to Momo...Momo...no, there wasn't time to think about that...and then to Hokuto. Half of Momo's team was MIA, and there was no telling where Omi and his friend were. It was conceivable that they were still stuck in the busses, but unlikely ( ... )
