ROOM M88

Leon's eyes opened slowly, and he stared blearily across at the bed opposite him for several moments. It was empty, but that didn't worry the boy yet. The room was dark - as dark as it had been when he'd fallen asleep if not darker.

Was it still night time? But he felt as though he'd slept for so long...

He sat up, stretching his arms above his head. It couldn't still be night. He'd definitely gotten a good amount of sleep and he felt very refreshed. It couldn't be the next night already... could it?

Had he slept through the entire day?

At once he was out of bed and padding over to the door. It was unlocked, just like it should be at night. He opened it, peering out into the hall, but saw no one. He couldn't even hear anything - no voices, not even the sounds of something creepy crawling through a hall close by. It felt so empty.

"Hello..?" he asked into the darkness, voice wavering. When there was no response he backed away from the open door. He didn't bother to close it, but kept his eyes on the opening even as he sat back on the edge of his bed and pulled his still unfinished book up to his chest.

He would wait. Somebody had to come.
