NIGHTSHIFT 28: BUS 3

Nov 26, 2007 18:32

Shana’s head jerked up as the carriages screeched to a halt and an awful, thick tension fell over all of them. Feeling her hair stand on end at the nape of her neck, she glanced around the outside of the bus, searching for whatever had given her the awful feeling of dread but seeing nothing out of the ordinary in the waning light of ( Read more... )

[IT SAVED MY POST OMG HOORAY]

Ashton moved his hand gently over Claude's as it landed on his shoulder, squeezing back a little, rather worriedly. "No- no clue." But they had seen him.. well, right before they'd been led to the buses. "Have you seen Dias?" He was terribly worried about the taller man, even though there was no real reason for him to be worried, besides that he hadn't seen him all day. Dias could take care of himself, but.. he was as confident in his abilities as Claude was, which led such people to do..

...well, things like Claude just did. Like punching through windows and leaving themselves terribly bloody.

Ashton winced a little bit. He hadn't meant for Claude to punch through the window - certainly they could have found a way to open it or .. or something. But escape was something they had to do. "Oh.. okay. Be sure not to get any glass on you, okay? I'll push you out.. if you get me from the other side, that is."

Hopefully he could fit. Hopefully some nurse wouldn't.. come up and attack him in the butt, or something. That would be cruel!

"I haven't seen Dias," Claude admitted roughly as he did his best to prepare the window for escape by brushing away the excess glass. He tried to ignore the blood he smeared onto the window's edge as he did so, though he couldn't help but give a soft, short hiss. "But I know he's around." Well, he didn't really have any solid proof of that, nothing to really assure Ashton. (And why did Ashton need reassuring about Dias, anyway?)

But, well, if anyone was capable of looking after himself, it was definitely Dias.

He nodded when Ashton offered to help him out. "Okay. But you better get out as soon as you can." Claude would be more than a little upset if something nabbed Ashton as soon as the blond had escaped.

Glancing over to the overwhelming chaos in the bus, Claude shouted, "We've got a window open over here for anyone who needs it!" Then, without another word, he clambered through the small opening, doing his best to make himself fit. He wasn't exactly short (though not tall, either), but he was plenty thin, and with Ashton helping him, Claude figured he wouldn't have any problems.

"O-oh. Okay," Ashton said at Claude's reply, frowning a little in dejection. He was worried about Dias, after all. Usually that bright blue head stuck right out in the crowd, and he was so utterly tall that one couldn't miss him. And people were said to disappear here, so..

What could have happened..? It was more of his bad luck. First they'd taken Axel for experiments, then they'd taken him, and now Dias had disappeared, and-

..but Claude said he knew Dias was around, right? So it was going to be okay.

..Hopefully.

"You better be careful!" He was tempted to reach out and grab Claude's bloody hand, find something to stop it from bleeding, but the blond had turned to scoot out the window. Ashton was a man of considerable strength, and he had no problem steadying his friend as he made it out the window. And with any kind of luck, what was waiting for him on the other side wasn't too bad. "You got it?"

For some reason, all he wanted to do was grab everyone he knew and pack them up in his little room. This night was strange, and he didn't like it.

"I'll be fine," Claude insisted. It was amazing he could say it with a relatively straight face, especially considering how bloody his hand was at that moment. "You're the one who should be careful." Claude wasn't the one with the crazy headaches or anything like that, after all.

But he'd be there to catch Ashton, so Claude didn't anticipate any problems.

And without another word, the blond completely slipped out of the window.
