Artemis had always been skeptical as to whether or not the things present in the Institute actually turned into their nightly counterparts. He'd never seen a kitten turn into a rotting cat, or a nurse turn into a syringe-covered monstrosity. Now he had, and he was very sorry that he'd seen it up close and personal. It'd been difficult to keep

"Do your best Keman," he said encouragingly as the boy left them to face the dangers on the bus. He did feel slightly guilty for not volunteering his own magic, but then, he'd promised himself he wouldn't use it.
"Hold on tightly, ok?" he spoke softly to Ururu as he rose from his seat, one arm under her bottom for support, the other protectively around her.

One caught sight of a threat drawing close and leapt, scalpel claws outstretched to slash at the foolish human's midsection.

There was no time to think about that though. He hurried toward the fallen boy, his expression concerned. He patted the boy's cheek with his hand and placed an arm under him for support. "Keman? Keman, come on, stay with us. We're gonna get out of here, ok?" Though, at the moment, he really wasn't sure how. He just knew he had to move the boy and quickly. Then he had to find someone to treat the wound. "Do you think you can walk?"

"The enemy is dangerous. Danger." Roland would have his answer, but only because Ururu spoke it quietly, oblivious to who was listening. "Danger must be eliminated."
She reached up, gripping the nurses neck with all of her strength. It wasn't what it should be, but it was enough to break bones, to twist the creature's neck until it snapped in her hands. Then the enemy would be dead, the first of the danger eliminated.

Poor Keman was speaking some kind of gibberish and Yuuhi could only watch the blood spread. He wasn't a healer, he'd never had that sort of ability! This was no place to be treating the boy, there wasn't even anything to treat him with!Kurogane was supposed to be here at a time like this! He was the dependable one! This was the part where he was supposed to rush in and save the day ( ... )

Of course, the girl was acting almost like a berserk demon herself, albeit as an inverse; inhumanly distant instead of filled with ravenous hunger. The point was the same, however. It didn't take a person like Roland to realize that the girl was suffering from an altered mental state, nor to notice just how much more powerful she was.
As it was? Roland kept his eyes open for what might be coming, and didn't try to strike again. With how the girl was fighting, Roland couldn't get a clean shot in anyway... and as much as he hated to admit it, she seemed to be handling herself well. If she could handle just one of the monsters, then Roland's task would be that much easier.

The nurse was hardly alone, however, an orderly quickly moving into the fray. Little could be seen of it in the light, save for its bulky shape. It lumbered at the pair, charging as much as he could in the cramped space, ready to grab either and throw them into the wall.

But there was another one coming. Chains rattling as the orderly ran, Ururu stood to face him. Still no fear, nor acknowledgment of those around her. The girl was just as empty as this new threat came at her. It was another enemy, another thing that must be eliminated.
Ururu moved to meet the creature, her movements fast, perhaps enough to dodge the outstretched arms. Her fist was cocked back, and when she came in range, she threw it outwards in a punch, aimed for the monster's gut.
