The detective almost crushed the slip of paper in his hand with excitement. He hadn't eaten the miserable breakfast that'd been issued to every patient, too miserable himself to actually realise he was starving. Not that he had the slightest idea why; wasn't like he'd done anything strenuous last night, unless gathering enough

Once inside the restaurant, Kairi peered silently around the small room with wonder. The place didn’t look all that bad, so she figured they would at least be able to eat and then go on their way without a bother.
Turning to give Axel a curious expression, the once princess crossed her arms over her chest. “So, where do you want to sit?”

"That isn't for us to decide." He remarked, and just as he did so a waitress walked over to them, gracing them both with a warm smile before she began to lead them towards one of the empty tables near the window. The place was still pretty vacant, but the Nobody guessed that everyone else was just off doing their own thing. Those muffins must've had enough fiber in them to last for at least most of the day.
It wasn't too long before they were each handed a menu, and Axel was pretty quick to lift it open and check its contents.

Sitting down quickly, she opened the menu she had been given and skimmed. Hm, what to get. Kairi chewed on her lip from behind the wall the menu had made, her eyes scanning over whatever was written. Why was it that at places like this she always had a sudden urge to order something with fruit? “Hmm. You know, it’s funny. I know the food at the institute is good, but it feels like forever since I’ve actually had any real food. … Now I don’t even know what to get.”
Lowering the menu slightly, Kairi quirked an eyebrow at her companion. “What about you?”

"I think I'm going to have one of those fried steaks. It looks like they're pretty renowned for it." He answered, gesturing to the various newspaper clippings that scattered the windows. And hell, that much publicity was enough for him. Not like it'd really matter anyway, fried anything got the 'A' stamp on his list.

Kairi glanced over the menu once more, a soft sigh escaping her lips soon after. “Hmmm… I think I just want a burger. Something plain and all that, you know.” After yet another sigh, the copper headed girl set her menu back down upon the table once again, her eyes wandering around the small restaurant with delight. “Though, I could totally kill for a sundae right now or something.”

"... What." Now, he knew that the redhead was special, but who in their right mind would want a sundae in the middle of fall? The Nobody only continued to look at her with that bizarre expression, all up until the waitress finally came back and asked for their orders. He blinked once before grinning up at the woman and held out the menu for her to take, listing what he wanted plus some sweetened tea to wash it all down.
"I hope they don't send us back out here in the middle of winter." He sighed, leaning back against his chair and idly fiddled with the napkin dispenser seated on their table.

When it was her turn to order, she asked politely for a cheeseburger and water - a shake had sounded tempting, but she didn’t want to push her luck. Who knew what the coupon was secretly hiding. Speaking of, Kairi reached into her pocket and once again drew out the coupon book, flipping through it slowly. What were they going to do with the rest of them? It was obvious there wasn’t enough time in one trip to do every activity on the coupons.
“Winter … oh! But that would mean we’d be able to see snow!” Kairi had never seen snow. The thought of it made her shudder in happiness. “I’m sure you’ll be able to sit on the bus if we do come out again, you know.”

"Why would I want to stay inside the bus?" He asked with a snort. "I'd just ask for another coat and go along my way."
The argyle sweater wasn't doing much for him at the moment, but he guessed it was better than nothing. Though a smile drew up over the corner of his lips as he thought of something, batting his eyes at the redheaded teen for added effect.
"But I guess it wouldn't be so bad if they made you wear another cute skirt."

And just like that the redhead's good mood was extinguished, followed by a deep frown that he just couldn't shake off his face until Kairi gave her little confession. The Nobody was pretty tempted to test this little theory out, and so he did so by reaching forward and giving her a solid smack over her head with the palm of his hand.
"Did that hurt...?" Axel asked with an innocent face, though it was obvious that he was trying to force down a grin that was peeking from the corners of his lips.

Opening her mouth to speak, instead of a word or two spoken, a whine came out instead at the sudden smack to her head. “Ow!” she complained, her hand lifting up to cradle her abused head. Glaring out at Axel from behind her wrist, Kairi narrowed her blue/violet eyes and shot invisible daggers at the other redhead’s stupid face. “Yes that hurt! You just hit me over the head! Why WOULDN’T it hurt?!”
The once Princess calmed herself down quickly, not wanting to cause a scene. Instead she simply went back to glaring at her friend, a deep frown crossing her face. “What was that for? You didn’t have to hit me!”

"Just wanted to make sure you didn't have CIPA." Axel answered with a slight grin, even though that should've meant that she couldn't feel the temperature either. Though it wasn't like he really thought of such a thing anyway. And of course, there was also the likely possibility that she didn't even know what CIPA even was.
By then the waitress came back with their orders, lowering the steaming plates in front of the two patrons with a smile before leaving them to tend to their food. Axel, in turn, was more than happy to dig into his food, picking up and pressing his knife right into the food before cutting off a filling portion.

Just then the food arrived, and the red head smiled up to the waitress in return, and then watched as she wandered off. Now that there was food in front of them, Kairi couldn’t help but realize how hungry she actually was. Reaching out quickly, Kairi grabbed onto a French fry and shoved it into her mouth before moving to cut her burger in half. Now that that was out of the way, she started to shove food in her mouth quickly, all the while still trying to not look like a super duper fatty.
When she had shoved enough food into her mouth, Kairi reached out and took a sip of her water and then let out a content sigh, her eyes once again landing on Axel. “So … uh … you know, I think they’re trying to stop us from drawing on the bulletin board. Every time I go there the crayons are completely

"I think they're just being biased because we don't give any juicy info on what we're going to do every night. Not unlike all those other groups that are running about like headless chickens." The redhead answered, casually waving his fork around to emphasize his thoughts before stabbing once more at a loose piece of meat.
"Got any plans for tonight?"
