Nightshift 27: Disciplinary Therapy Room 2 [M-U for Gremio]

Oct 09, 2007 18:08

It had always been about breaking through boundaries. That was how this patient had ended up here in the first place, after all, as opposed to staying in the ground where "fate" had determined he should be.

Doctors were supposed to make breakthroughs, and if his definition of a breakthrough was slightly different from the norm, what did that matter?

Gremio had been weak, and that was why he had died. Sacrifices didn't get anyone anywhere other than dead. That was this doctor's view on it, in any case -- and he didn't really care what anyone else thought.

If he had only had a rune, perhaps he would have survived. However, in a place like Landel's, it wasn't about giving the patients gifts. No, it was about testing their limits and seeing how they screamed when they were pulled too tight.

There was only one rune that fit that description, and the doctor was quite excited at the prospect of Gremio getting acquainted with it. It wasn't something "fate" had ever meant for him to bear, but...

Well, that was what made this a breakthrough.

The doctor was seated on a stool in the dark room, eyes focused on the one light that was illuminating the patient's hand. Hopefully he would wake up soon.

m-u, gremio
