Nightshift 27: M69

Dinner had been... uneventful. As uneventful as listening to the violent thoughts of his roommate could be, but Naoya supposed that it could have gone worse. He shivered for a moment at the thought as grabbed his flashlight and began searching the room. He hadn't given this room a thorough search when he had first arrived; the first time because he ( Read more... )

((from the most surreal hallway ever))

Naoto closed the door after him until the latch clicked in the door frame. "We are not going back out there." He crossed the room to Naoya's bed, and sat down next to his little brother, reaching out to pull him close.

Naoya couldn't help the relief that flooded him as his brother walked through the door. He was alright! He had been worried something may have happened, an understandable fear when it came to these halls at night. At his brother's words though, the young man frowned slightly before tilting his head in confusion.

"Did something happen, niisan?" Naoya asked, studying his brother for a moment to check for injuries. Finding none, he smiled and moved closer to his brother.

"Nothing to me," Naoto replied. "Some people are having an...encounter in the hallway." Naoto wasn't about to say exactly what, Naoya would want to rush out there and he wasn't sure it was a good idea.

"I heard you," he continued. "I just couldn't say anything back."

Another moment of confusion. People were having 'an encounter' in the hallway and his brother didn't want to talk about it so it was either really bad or really strange. Considering how his brother was more concerned about staying inside rather than being upset about someone getting hurt though he was upset too, Naoya was almost certain it was something strange. Resting his head on his brother's chest, Naoya nodded wordlessly. He did not mind staying in his room for a night, that way he could hopefully explain what was going on to his brother without worrying about monsters.

Naoya glanced up, momentarily at a loss. Heard...? Oh! "You heard me call you?" But he couldn't respond? That would have explained the silence...
