Nightshift 27: F12

After Momo had departed, Integra was resigned to her indefinite wait for the vampire yet again. She could never know how quick he would or would not be, but knew the time in between must pass so much slower for her, having so little to do. Still sitting on her bed, the woman made another map copy by flashlight -for him again- now including the new ( Read more... )

Alucard had orders to act on, at least, so perhaps it was good Integra decided to join one of the other groups established here. It alleviated most of the confusion and some of the boredom and drudgery. He was sure not to dawdle, this was his first mission and he did not want to screw up.

The vampire didn't know about this 'Dias' fellow, but if he didn't show up soon, he was going to be left behind.

"Master," he spoke, knocking on the room door softly. "I'm here."

There was no answer for him. The woman, most unintentionally, had had her moment of rest and the boredom of waiting come together in the form of full sleep. It wasn’t wise to lay so vulnerable her rational mind would have known, but that was beside the point now.

Integral was in a dreamless state, lying on her back with the sheets in a mess half on the floor by the time Alucard first knocked. Both that sound and his voice were too quiet to stir her yet.

After a wait of about a few minutes and knocks, Alucard was sure she had drifted off to sleep. He didn't blame her actually, they had little time to rest in the night, and Integra didn't strike him as one to take an afternoon nap. The vampire crept in silently, sitting down on Momo's bed to watch the knight.

He was perfectly content just half-lying on someone else's bed and watching another sleeping woman. Though he had no intention to fall asleep himself.

Her chest rose and fell in a slow but predictable rhythm, no thoughts in her mind or expression upon her face. Muscles that were so often made to frown or grimace at the slightest provocation were now at momentary peace even with her glasses slightly askew from the pressure of the pillow beneath them.

The knight’s whole long body didn’t quite fit on the modest bed, so her knees were bent just slightly to keep her bare feet from hanging off the edge as she continued to sleep.
