Nightshift 27: M1-M40 block hallway

Recluse turned the corner into the cell block hallway, still internally ranting about Landel. He was used to being the one in control of people like that infuriating doctor. There was a whole recruitment program for 'Mad Scientists' in Arachnos ( Read more... )

The Head Doctor's words were worrisome tonight. There would probably be an influx of people heading toward the kitchen, where their goal for the night was. Would that mean more trouble? And what was 'down below' in the kitchen...?

Naruto contemplated these things as he padded into the open hallway outside his block, alert to how empty it was and how alone he was. He darted toward the F-Blocks, intent to find the girls as quickly as possible.

Sai counted the rows - just one over to the one with the M rooms in their thirties. It was a good sight cleaner than it had been the last time he was there. The bathroom, at least, showed no sign of leeches. Yet.

He made a right, and went for the pirate's door.

[ from here, waiting on Daemon, Saetan, Ren, and I think Ai? ]

River squatted down near the wall. Might as well play while she waited. Hair hanging in her face, the girl drew circles with her finger in the dirt. Or what would've been the dirt, had she lived in a dirty place. The paint was invisible, and it would never wash off the walls of hell.

Daemon stepped back into the hall that led to his own, and immediately spotted River crouched outside the bathroom door. Knowing his father was following, he approached her with a smile.

"Looks like you've beat us all here, Lady. There's been no sign of Ren or his companion yet?"

Saetan studied the girl before scoping out the hallway again. There seemed to be more rooms/cells off in one direction. He'd expect more traffic here.

Then he focused on what Daemon was saying to River. As for himself, Saetan couldn't quite categorize the girl child any more than he could earlier in the day, not quite a woman. Nor quite a witch though as he'd decided before he'd be hard-pressed to call her simply a landen either.

"It seems we must wait now, though I can't complain about the company."

River turned around, forgetting the invisible etchings in the wall and floor for now. The smile she smiled was a brilliant one, so was the prize when a girl was left flattered. Though she'd seen no sign of Ren yet, there would be pleasant company indeed. Maybe even pudding.

The girl jumped to her feet, pausing to give a quick thought to those that would be joining. "Not here yet. Coming." Hopefully, all would end well. Many times the group of numbers was barred entry from the house of one. But that wasn't that just yet. Now and here, here and now they stood. A group of three wanting for two more. It wasn't the same as five yet, but it would be soon.

"He's talked about me. Only because he knows he was in trouble and is trying to make up." A playfully stern look was sent in Daemon's direction before she turned back to Saetan, giving him a very serious once over before nodding. "Yes, you'll do. Do you know anything about the manufacturing pudding utilizing supernatural means of affecting reality?"

Just a little farther. 622 shone the beam from his glowrod down every hallway he passed, trying to pick out if there was any movement in the darkness.

He really wished he had a rifle, but there was no point in wasting time complaining about what he didn't have. Make do, move on.

Ashton's row was... Leon stopped to count. The second one from the back should have M12. He wondered briefly if he would be swift enough to meet his friend's roommate. He didn't see much of his own.
