Nightshift 27: M81-M90 Hallway

Oct 06, 2007 10:46

Dinner had been thankfully uneventful, but now it was time for the part of the night that Statesman was not particularly looking forward.

He wondered who Logan was bringing along... maybe the kid he'd mentioned was afraid of revealing his identity? Well, either way, Logan seemed like the trustworthy type. And Recluse would probably be even more ( Read more... )

Clark wasn't sure what to expect tonight. Chances were he wouldn't run into Peter again a second time, although he wouldn't be up against traveling with the other guy. He seemed nice enough, although kind of quiet and intense, and Clark hoped he'd be okay. Same went with Kasady and Mr. Barret. So far he liked everyone he met here, and for the most part, he didn't think any of them belonged in a mental institute.

Okay, go time, Clark thought as the door's lock clicked open. Remembering to bring along his flash light, Clark stepped out. It was just as dark as the night before.

Wearing a slight grin at Dark's last words, Kain stepped out into the hallway. He had noticed they were at the very end of the hall, closest to the other hall, when the nurse had dropped him off earlier, but now he saw the position of the room was useful.

It was dark, but Kain could still see others leaving their rooms. It was a bit of a relief that his night vision remained the same; it'd be annoying to actually have to use the flash light stuck in the waistband of his pants.

Now to find Hanabusa.

Tonight Leon was to stay with Ashton. A simple enough task as long as he could remember where his friend's room was. He grabbed his journal - not only to make certain that he kept it with him, but to flip through it and find where he'd written it down. Satisfied that he had it, he tucked the journal back into his pants where he had it the previous night and grabbed his flashlight.

Off to visit the wounded, then.

Night time! The best part of the day, in Xelloss's opinion. True, it lacked art projects, board games, and delicious food for his new human stomach, but this was the time to feed the part of himself which was not an organ of this solid human body, enjoying the fear, anxiety and pain that the monsters of the night generated in the patients.

He had business tonight, as well. As always, first things first--he waited patiently in the hallway for Lord Hellmaster to emerge, so they could have their nightly discussion of plans before he went to meet with the leader of Arts and Crafts. And then, if that didn't take too long, perhaps exploring to see where Seishirou might be so they could continue their conversation?

Xelloss wondered if he'd see Zelgadis tonight. He rather hoped so, especially if he could avoid being spotted. Watching the chimera get used to his new, weak human body in battle with some monster should be very entertaining.

Phibrizzo eventually emerged from his room some time after Quatre left. The other boy had proven as gullible as Gremio and he was confidant that he now had two "hero"-types on his side should Zelgadis ever catch on to his presence. Still, it would be better if Zelgadis were out the picture in general, something he wished to discuss with the Trickster Priest.

"Xelloss," He said as an acknowledgement as he approached his borrowed servant, waiting for the other to bow and show him the proper respect before the discussion began.

Xelloss could recognize that attitude with nothing more than Phibrizzo's tone of voice, and he bowed politely. "Lord Hellmaster."

That formality out of the way, he smiled widely. "I have a date tonight with the leader of the Arts and Crafts group. I'm also working on convincing a dark sorcerer named Seishirou to form a group dedicated to that sort of magic--with myself of course only a humble member participating mostly behind the scenes." He paused, then changed his smile, tilting his head. "He said that a child asked him for one of his magic papers."

"Really?" Hellmaster said, feigning ignorance, but obviously so. "What could a child do with magic papers?"

"At any rate, those seem to be solid plans. There is the more pressing matter to address at the moment, however."

Xelloss wasn't a fool; he would know exactly what Hellmaster meant.

Quatre left the room he shared with his roommate and carefully walked down the hallway. He was frowning to himself as he held his flashlight carefully in his hand.

At least he felt much more prepared tonight than he had the night before, and Heero and Duo were both with him. Relena too could take care of herself, but Quatre still worried about her. She was much more important than the three of them.

Hopefully Duo had been able to tell Heero where to meet them, and hopefully everyone would find their way there easily. Hopefully, everything would be okay tonight.
