Day 27: Library

Sep 29, 2007 09:18

Libraries, he'd found, were rarely as dull as people made them out to be.  Though he felt no magic in these tomes, they were still full of useful information.  Maybe some of them could tell him a little bit more about this world he'd landed himself in.

For that matter, why hadn't he run into any of the others yet?  They'd all been fairly close ( Read more... )

Ginji felt horrible. His entire body ached from overusing it during lunch. At least he still knew he couldn't jump around or anything, but he also couldn't have let the poor kid get hurt by that big creepy guy.

His nurse brought him into the library. Ginji frowned slightly. He wasn't very good at reading. He asked her to bring him something easy to read as she placed his wheelchair by a table. She grinned and came back with a children's story.

It was better than nothing, with a smile he thanked her and then looked at hte cover. Frowning, he opened it up.

He wasn't sure how much he would be able to focus on a book.

[invading~ hopefully Ginji's not waiting on anyone. If he is feel free to delete |D;;]

Kyon's nurse made the decision to lead him into the Library, going on about the different books that could be found there. She also made a point about the quiet environment, too. Maybe she had picked up on Kyon's mood since breakfast. If she did, she was good.

He glanced around the room and headed to the book shelf. He skimmed through the titles, recognizing a lot of them. None of them though, he really felt like reading. (Damn and it didn't look like they had The Blue Bird of Happiness)

Picking something random he sat down at the nearest table.

Ginji looked up at the person who sat next to him and smiled. "Hello Kyon-kun," he said, making a cheerful smile appear on his face despite how horrible he felt. He kept his voice low, they where in a library after all. "I'm glad to see you are okay."

Kyon looked up at who was talking to, not being really into the book he was skimming through. He gave Ginji a small smile and closed his book. "Ginji. Yeah, I'm doing alright I guess. What about you?"

He didn't forget their first meeting by a long shot, and now that he thought about it again, he was severely glad that the monster had gone for his back rather than his legs. He didn't want to think about being trapped in a wheel chair.

"I've been better..." Ginji said with a grin. "I had a little excitement during lunch, but otherwise it's the same as before."

He was joking about it, but in truth he was really not okay with the idea of patients attacking each other. He thought it would be best if everyone worked together to leave, instead of fighting and attacking each other.

Kyon gave him a nod. At least he hadn't been injured the night before or something. Not that Kyon could say much considering what had happened to him the night before.

"What happened at lunch?" He asked curiously, he didn't remember overhearing anything eventful before now.

"A really creepy guy attacked some kid," he frowned at the memory. "At least the nurses stopped anyone from being seriously hurt."

Kyon blinked. "Some old guy attacked a kid?" That was a little weird. But then, did that mean that Ginji tried to intervene? How?

"You sure you're alright then?"

Ginji frowned. "I think I hurt myself trying to get him away from the kid," he said it with a slight grimace. "But I couldn't just let that happen right?" He would have to check his injuries once he was in a place where he wouldn't have to gross anyone out with them. "But I'm fine, really, if I hadn't have done anything I would be feeling a lot worse." He smiled at that, hoping that Kyon would at least understand that.

That fair look of concern stayed on his face as he spoke but he was glad at least that he seemed to be mostly okay. And he did agree with him to an extent. He might've done the same in his place.

Then again, he was the one who ran down two separate hallways with his back torn open to get help for Kon when he was fighting off that monster. So, yeah he understood where Ginji was coming from. There was a slight smile and a nod from Kyon.

Then he blinked as something occurred to him. "Ginji, what do you do during the night?" It seemed unusual to him that Ginji, as injured as he was, seemed to be safe from harm from the previous night.

"Since I got like this I've been staying in my room. No monsters have attacked me yet," he seemed uncomfortable about that fact, but it was the truth. He was useless during the night, but he hated the idea of others having to fight while he hid in his room.

The night before Roland had come to his room and explained how Ginji had gotten his injuries, that some monster had tried to eat him. The idea made Ginji feel sick, that piled on top of his guilt over hiding every night since the fight made his face pale as he frowned.

"I see," Kyon said. Well, so long as he stayed safe. Though it was interesting that the monsters didn't seem to come after them while they were in the patient 's rooms. The medical aide club had gone undisturbed so far, despite the trail of blood that Kyon had probably left.

Hm.

"You should look for a healer, I met one last night that used, I dunno," He paused looking for the right word, "magic to heal the wounds I got last night. I'm sure they would do wonders for your legs."

Ginji seemed to think about that and then nodded. "Yeah, that might be a good idea," he said thoughtfully.

He didn't seem to think the idea of 'magic' was strange, but he had to admit he hadn't heard of a lot of people who could use their abilities to heal others. A fast healing rate for the self wasn't unheard of, but how could one extend it to others?

Kyon gave him another nod in response. Yes, there was something he could do. If he could hunt down and find the two that helped him the night before, he was sure that Ginji could at least get out of that wheel chair for a bit. It was the least he could do for all the information Ginji had given him the previous day.

"I can try and find them for you. I'll put up a notice on the bulletin board," He told him assuringly.

Ginji smiled sincerely at the offer. "You don't have to!" he said though it was nice to see a friend wanting to help him. "I don't want you to have to go through all that trouble."

"Trouble?" Kyon shook his head, "Believe me, its no trouble at all." He moved to stand up, still looking at him. No, he was going to do this. Besides, he also needed to contact Kon somehow. He had yet to see him today and he was fairly worried about his injuries.

He took a few steps back, "I'll come find you if I get an answer. What's your room number? In case its not until later on."
