He couldn’t remember the last time he had ever slept so well. It was an odd sensation to feel so relaxed, warm and comfortable that it kept the sword contently dozing. Rolling over onto his side, one arm was thrown over his body sleepily as the back of his hand gently slammed down onto the surface of the mattress. A slight frown marred the Star Dragon Sword’s face at the sensation, but the fact that he was resting so contently caused his mind to sluggishly work over the small fact to the point where it almost went entirely ignored.

Moments slipped by in restful silence before slowly the fact that his body seemed to be so flexible began to permeate his mind. His frown deepened at the thought, and slowly, sleepy amber eyes flickered open to catch sight of the unfamiliar room. Bolting straight up from the mattress, a low growl emitted from the back of his throat as the sheets covering him flew up and half fell over the edge of the bed.

What sort of games was Viktor playing at!

Yet the angry thought inside of his mind died down as the sword caught sight of an arm entering into his vision. Blinking once in surprise, the Star Dragon Sword murmured softly to himself as he carefully regarded if it was even real or not, and as the fingers wiggled almost as if on command, his amber eyes widened in surprise before anger flourished throughout his system.

That arm was his?! Bolting up from his bed, the Star Dragon Sword was instantly on his feet as he balanced himself on the mattress and willed himself back into the image of a sword. He stood there for a few short moments as absolutely nothing came of his command, and even when another voice drifted past his hearing, the Night Rune entirely ignored it in favour of transforming itself back into the incarnation of a sword.

Nothing happened however.

What was going on? He knew that he never should have trusted Viktor’s judgement, and the fact there had to be a reason that stupid bag of flesh had so easily passed him over to that mere child Edge didn’t go unnoticed. The sword had never realised that oaf was so devious though, and now it seemed because of his lack of foresight he’d been placed in such an undesirable position. Growling lightly to himself, the anger the Rune felt inside was so vast that the incarnation didn’t even bother hiding his severe displeasure; especially when it was obvious to him that his current situation was all Viktor’s fault.

Why did he ever bother with the fool in the first place?

“Mr. Sterling?” A stern yet recognisably feminine voice broke through his thoughts.

The sword’s attention instantly snapped up at the voice, and he found himself wishing that the woman who stood before him now was that barbaric oaf instead. “What is it that you want foolish woman? Can’t you see that I’m busy?!” He snapped.

“There’s no need to be so hostile Mr. Sterling. I’m merely informing you that there is to be no standing on the beds. Now come along, although you’ve just arrived you really should be with the other patients in the Sun Room.”

Mr. Sterling? Yet any thoughts on the odd address to his name fled out of his mind as he caught wind of something more important.

The Sun Rune?

Misunderstanding what was being said to him, the mere thought of that annoying other half of his only seemed to cause the Night Rune’s ire to increase. “The Sun Rune?” Everything was beginning to make sense if they were involved. No mere mortal held the power to transform him against his will, and he wouldn’t put it past that nuisance to conspire with Viktor in order to inconvenience him. “What’s that flamboyant rock got to do with all of this?”

The confusion he saw flicker over the nurse’s face didn’t bold well and it left his mood in an ever fouler temper than before as his thoughts were confirmed.

“Sun Rune? No, I mentioned the Sun Room. It’s a place where the patients of Landel’s institute can go and socialise with each other in a relaxing environment.” A sympathetic expression passed over the nurse as she regarded the sword, and it only made the Night Rune bristle in response as she continued, “I know everything seems all confusing for you at the moment, but that is what we nurses are here for and I’ll explain things to you along the way.”

Nothing was making any sense, and the fact that his powers seemed to be severely limited was also a great concern to the sword. What magic was a play here? “You better for I am in no mood for petty games.” He grumbled as he followed out after the nurse.
