[ from here]

Finally.

Gremio nudged open the door with his shoulder, quickly rushing the short distance over to the bed. He didn’t dump Leon on the mattress, of course; aside from the obvious reasons, he was quite certain the boy would hurt him and badly once he came out of this if he were to treat him so roughly. "It's slowing." Leon heard his words slurring slightly, and shook his head. "It's been elevated." But obviously he had still lost enough blood to make him dizzy, weak, and a little disoriented. He was hanging in there, though, and the blood flow really was slowing down, the longer he kept the wound elevated and kept the pressure on. The pain... well, that was fading, which he knew was a sign of shock, and yet he couldn't help but be a little relieved anyway.

Jean came as quickly as she could to the desk, taking care not to disturb her arm. The small number of uniform shirts seemed dismal; would that be enough for Leon?

"I need to go get water, I know. But if, while I'm gone, you absolutely cannot get the bleeding to stop, I need you to do something for me." Gremio reached up, long fingers quickly undoing the blue strip of cloth he used to tie back his hair. He looked it over for a moment, tugging it taut once to test it's strength. "Hm... yes, I think this will suffice." He opened one of the desk drawers, grabbing one of the ink pens from inside.

"There we go." He handed the band and the pen to Jean. "I'm afraid it's a rather sorry excuse for a tourniquet, and if we're at all lucky we won't have to use it. But do you know how to tie one if you have to?"

Leon scowled darkly at the talk of a tourniquet, and elevated his wounded hand just a little more. Losing two fingers was bad enough, he still couldn't really process that it was real, but a tourniquet could lead to him losing the entire hand. While it would be better than dying again, certainly, it wasn't something Leon wanted to contemplate just now.
