Here] Pulling open the door, Cloud peered inside and raised an eyebrow at the sight of all manner of sports equipment. He supposed that because he was in a recreational field, the staff would have equipment in order to keep the patients entertained. He spied various manners of equipment he had never seen before and some that seemed to haunt him of the days of ‘dodge ball’ in boot camp.
He stepped inside in order to better explore the place. He wrinkled his nose a little at the sight of spider webs and stopped when his eyes fell on a particular item. Baseball bats, was the only words that formed in his head as he padded over to the racks of aluminum and wooden bats.
He reached out and picked one of the aluminum ones, swinging it experimentally. It was heavy but not all the good of quality, probably only have to take a certain amount of damage before crumpling. He put it back down and picked up a wooden one, swinging it as well before nodding. It too was not the highest quality, but he knew well how to protect wooden-made bats from high stress.
I need some nails and a hammer, he mused as he turned the bat over in his hand. It was like a strange sense of déjà vu all over again, bringing him back a few years to a more care-free time. Tonight really was a little better than the first one.
He exited the shed and carefully closed it up again. He had what he had come for.
