"When money's available, there's no point in not travelling. America is a surprisingly boring country." Small talk just wouldn't come easy - and it was no surprise, as derived no enjoyment in it at the moment, anyway - but he tried to keep going. Think about the irony. Wasn't it funny? She would taste so good, but here was being such a well-behaved vampire and not laying a hand on her; instead, they were engaged in conversation.
It wasn't that funny, and he felt like he was on the verge of splitting right down the middle, but he had to do something.
"Good guess," said Aidou, without elaborating. Not the same seventeen in their minds. "This rude, bitter girl said I looked close to thirty, isn't that horrible?" When, they came up to the end of the hallway, the vampire couldn't help flicking his glance to the right, towards the area where that woman lurked. And there she was, with that eerie glow about her.
He wasn't crossing that area again, never. Let her other victims suffer as they would.
"Let's go." His voice was quieter. "Keep that flashlight off."
