The unfamiliar darkness would've been somewhat disconcerting to any, normal being in possession of a heart to fear it. As it were, Saïx found himself unphased by the twisting hallways and corridors; though it was not the Darkness that he was so very accustomed to, it still shared the same, basic attributes. Of course, he found himself unable to mold this type, which was somewhat bothersome.
There was not a trace of any colleagues. Nor of Naminé. Nor of the Keyblade Bearer. Saïx's lip almost twitched at such a thought. How he would anticipate his next meeting with Sora, if he were able to anticipate at all.
Funny that, as he pushed a door open to find his way outdoors, that his eyes would fall upon the very boy that had just invaded his thoughts. There he was, creeping down the field toward what looked to be some sort of battle.
"I would've thought you'd learned to watch your back when you were all alone in the dark," Saïx paused as his normally expressionless eyes flashed. "Sora."

The voice was familiar, but Sora couldn't match tone with face or name for a moment. All he knew was that it was nothing good. It was sleek, solid...
Cruel.
The boy's shoulders were tensed uncomfortably. He forgot about the scuffle happening across the field, forget even about Junior who was close at his side. He turned slowly, his slippers squeaking in the moist grass as he faced Saïx.
He wasn't like the others. Sora knew this member of the Organization--remembered clearly everything he had done. There had been Luxord, yes, but... But Luxord hadn't said the things Saïx had. Their fight had been something of a game, whereas with Saïx the Keyblade Master had truly felt he was fighting for his life.
In this place, where his powers were weakened and he wasn't sure to what extent the Nobody could still fight, Sora was sent into a slight panic at the sight of the blue-haired man.
He didn't know what to say.

Sora hadn't been the brightest of souls, but Saïx was sure that even he could appreciate just how delicate a situation he was in at the moment.
"Unfortunate that the moon isn't out tonight," he commented simply before arching a single eyebrow. "Have you forgotten your manners? Or did someone do me a favor and cut out your tongue?"

Even so, simple instinct shouted that it wasn't a good idea to leave and continue looking into the fight that was going on further down the field, though the same instinct didn't decide to clue him in to the delicacy of the situation. Given his past history with tossing insults around, he'd probably end up making it worse without realizing it.
"Sora? What's wrong?" the redhead spoke up, gripping tighter on the pole in his hand.

Then again, Saïx had to be one of the new patients. He probably didn't understand that yet. He was most likely thinking of only one thing - revenge.
The lack of the moon's presence was actually quite fortunate, Sora thought. He hardly needed Saïx going berserk in the middle of the soccer field. At least he didn't have his sword with him.
Glancing at Junior, the boy tried to look calm - and failed miserably. "Umm, well... We..." How was he supposed to explain his history with the Nobody without sounding like some horrible killer?

While he didn't have Number VI's nose, Xigbar did have an uncanny knack for getting out of doors. Mostly because he preferred being outside, and also because at this particular moment he was wanting to get outside. He'd spent as little time in the Castle as he possibly could, and getting out of that place sounded like a really good idea.
He was stopped in mid-stride when he saw Number VII, though. And the Keyblade Wielder. And apparently someone had forgotten to give Saix his pills, because Xigbar could just feel the other Nobody's intent. He'd been on the receiving end of that rage once, after all; it was not something he wanted to repeat.
...that made it strange, though. Weren't Xemnas's orders specifically to not harm the Keyblade's Chosen? Otherwise Xigbar would have been all over him by now... huh. It was weird, and for the first time in roughly his lifetime, Xigbar managed to keep his mouth shut and observe this time ( ... )

Why, there was Sora! And that man with him... Xigbar? Then the other one must be...
Naminé remembered Saix. She had half a notion to hide, but she also knew she had to be safe here. Everyone had lost their powers; everyone was on the same playing field. There was no reason for her to be afraid, but her memories of the man were unpleasant to say the least. Still, Naminé waved to the faraway figures, hoping they could see her.

Saïx nearly rolled his eyes at both Sora's tied tongue and the sudden appearance of his colleagues at such an opportune time. They were among two of the loyal members, from what he could recall, and allies of any sort would be useful in a place like this. Number X appeared to have the Witch in tow, however, which was somewhat curious considering she'd essentially gone out of her way to help the Keyblade Master. Perhaps X wasn't aware. Or perhaps he'd lost his faith in their cause, if there even was one any longer ( ... )

More? Sora felt like shrinking into a ball. But it looked like Naminé was with Luxord, at least. If the situation hadn't been quite as dire, he would have waved at her. Instead, he returned his gaze to the berserker.
When Saïx started to speak again, Sora couldn't stop himself from tensing at his voice. He listened, however, and it didn't take him long to piece together what the man was getting at. Sora didn't get that Saïx had turned his attention to Luxord. He needed more information than thatHis courage suddenly returned and he stepped forward, grabbing at Saïx's sleeve to get his attention. "You saw Kairi?" he asked, though it was more of a demand than a question. "Where? Who was hurting her? Where were they going?" He needed to know so he could find whoever it was and ( ... )

That meant that Xigbar had to keep his eye on Saix, as he didn't want to miss a moment. (Normally he'd have shoved in and demanded seniority when it came to taunting the Keyblade's Chosen, but he knew better than to throw his weight around against someone like Number VII. It just meant that Xigbar'd have to wait for the coast to be clear, again.) But that also meant that he had to acknowledge Number X in some other way. So, acknowledge he did.
"Luxord! Holding all the cards again, huh? Come on down so we can get caught up!" He had to grin; Luxord was, if there was such a thing, a decent neophyte. One of the few Xigbar actually liked- even if that didn't always translate well for the neophyte in question.
