The intercom clicked on with its usually cheery air and the Head Doctor seemed to call out the events of the day with a smile that was nearly audible.
"I trust that everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast! Now, as I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the events of today, I will come clean with what they are! Yes, that's right, today, everyone will

So, when he woke up, whole, and distinctly alive, Sparda was somewhat surprised. The location was slightly less surprising, the white walls, generic, cheap furniture, and sterile medicinal smell indicated that he was in a hospital of some sort. He was quite certain that he hadn’t defeated all of the demons by himself… had some other demon hunter come to his rescue? Perhaps one of the descendants of the clan that had aided him during his original fight with Mundus, he was sure there were still a few of them around.
After a quick check of his body to assure there were no lingering injuries, he stood up and stretched, muscles sore and body aching despite the lack of injury. He almost missed it at first, eyes passing across his shadow without paying any attention, until he realized there was something distinctly wrong with it. It took a moment for him to realize that his shadow actually matched up with his human body, something it had never done in the past.
His shadow had always remained that of his demon form, a constant reminder of the body and power he gave up. Now, however it was a normal, human shadow. No horns, no claws. Neither of his two sets of wings, or the wing covers that protected them in battle. They were all gone, replaced by a normal shadow that matched perfectly with his human body. He even spent a moment waving his arms to make sure that it was his shadow, watching the darkness mimic his movements almost mockingly.
Sparda was quick to stop this when the door to his room opened, and a human nurse appeared. He gave her a pleasant smile, despite the situation, and his concerns regarding his missing, or, rather, altered shadow.
“Hello, Mr. Leonidus,” well, it wasn’t surprising that she was calling him by a name that wasn’t his, whoever checked him in to the hospital probably either hadn’t known his name, or had thought it better to give him a different one. Humans needed a first and second name, and Sparda had only a singular, demon name.
“It’s time for the showers, you slept through breakfast but you can still go get cleaned up, now, if you’ll please follow me.”
Unsure what was happening entirely, Sparda did follow her. He could find out what was happening after he had a shower.
