The man seated across from William was an odd one. Although the scientist could see little in the dark of the room, the long hair caught his attention and it was only inevitable that he would arrive to the conclusion of 'oddity'. It wasn't often men wore their hair long.

The stranger questioned him in English, and Armand turned to look at him, as much as he could see in the dark. The other man had very short hair, fair perhaps. He coudln't tell.
"Armand St. Just. Who are you, monsieur?" Then he mentally cringed, because if he was in France, he should have said 'citoyen' if anyone was listening. Surely this was a fellow prisoner. He didn't sound English, but he was most certainly not French.

At his roommate's own question, the doctor allowed himself a small amused smile. It wasn't rare for those of Umbrella to not know who he was based on sight. It wasn't often he left the facility to 'mingle', but at the sound of his name things were quickly rectified.
On the other hand, William wasn't so sure the situation was Umbrella's doing. They knew what the doctor was capable of, they would not put him in the cell with another prisoner.
"I am Doctor William Birkin," he replied calmly, the thought of being trapped in an unknown location not affecting him in the least. He would have liked to know what became of his G-virus samples though. "I'm afraid I don't know where we are at the moment, though." Not yet, anyway.

"Citoyen Birkin, you're a physician? What did you do to annoy the Tribunal?" As he straightened, he tucked a few strands of his hair behind his ears to keep them out of his face. "If we are in their hands my only hope is rescue and return to exile."

It was as if this man believed himself to be from the past.
"I'm afraid you are mistaken, there is no longer any Tribunal in France." Or anywhere else for that matter. William was careful not to confirm nor deny the Armand's belief that he was a physician. although he had some medicinal training, the doctor title was more of a front than anything else.
They couldn't have the public know about what Umbrella really specialized in, now could they?
