If a being that lacked his heart could somehow have a heart attack, Xemnas would certainly have one as soon as the radio broke the deafening silence. As the man blurted his message, the Nobody found himself torn between listening to said message or trying to silence it. It would seem he had no choice in the matter, even despite the

He was delighted to discover that unlike most, Yazoo didn't look at him as if he were a moron. Well aware of the image he projected, Bast still disliked it when people spoke to him as if he were a fool. If there was one thing a Lestrange had never been, it was a fool. Secondly, Yazoo didn't act as if he were a burden that had to be picked up and toted around whether he wanted to or not. That scored the remnant major cookie points in his book.
Therefore, Bast was more than happy to trail along after Yazoo, staying silent for once. Maybe that one brain cell was working or Bast's stupid act really was little more than an act. Giggles had to be smothered at the man's mewing, that delighting Bast right down to the bottom of his dark little soul. Oh yes, he liked Yazoo.
Peeking around the cornre with bright-eyed interest, it took Bast a minute to catch what Yazoo meant by 'thing'. Glancing at the wand, Bast grinned cheerfully. He had a friend, even if there weren't any monsters yet.
"It's a wand! I'm a wizard. I used to be able to cast all sorts of wonderful things with it like the Death Curse, but I don't think it's working properly. Must be all this Muggle stuff around," he replied, giving 'Muggle' the same amount of distaste that one of them would have given 'Shin-Ra'. Bast paused there, eyeing Yazoo thoughtfully. Nah, couldn't be. His new best friend couldn't be one! Muggles were terrible and diseased things, not like his pretty new friend! Why, they even had matching hair although Yazoo's was nice and smooth while Bast's tended to be a bit more ragged. Azkaban hadn't been the best place for hairstyles.
"You're not a Muggle, are you? You can do magic and the like, believe it, right? You're not one of them that think magic doesn't exist or that wizards should be burned?"

But what exactly was a Muggle?
He got his answer when Bast started asking him a string of questions. To him, it sounded like muggles were similar to the crowd of people he had terrorized with Shadow Creepers; powerless, and unable to do anything but stand there and be annoying with all of their shouting. He made a small disgusted face as he remembered the event before looking over to Bast again.
Even though he knew that his powers were severely weakened in the institute, Yazoo raised his left hand and concentrated. He was shocked when a small puff of black smoke appeared in the air, but just as he suspected, no Shadow Creeper. The thin smoke disappeared almost as quickly as it had come, and he lowered his hand.
“My magic isn’t working properly either, but as you can see,” he waved his hand in the direction where the now diminished smoke had formed and gave Bast a smirk; “I’m no Muggle.” As he talked, he made a mental note to remember that even though the smoke was thin, it would make a nice distraction if one was ever needed.

"It's just terrible, isn't it? What's the use of being a Dark wizard if I can't even cast a little Imperius or Cruciatus? You know how much easier it would be to do things if I could just make one of them take care of everything? I wonder if the Head Doctor would give me back my powers if I asked."
Bast seemed satisfied with that display of power that Yazoo wasn't a Muggle. He was happy to have yet another wizard to be around, and Yazoo was much nicer than Severus. Maybe Severus would appreciate a new friend too!
"I'll have to introduce you to Severus Snape tomorrow. He's another wizard, a potion-maker. If you want it to do something, he can do it. I was going to ask him if it were possible for him to make some sort of poison or controlling substance and then drop it in the drink containers. The nurses don't watch me all that well since they think I'm cute and stupid, so I could do it. If I got caught, I'd just cry and tell them I didn't know what I was doing. They're sort of dumb like that. If everyone got sick from a poison, they'd have to open the doors and take them all somewhere like to a Saint Mungo's or something, wouldn't they? It would be the perfect chaos scene to cover us sneaking out in the pack. We could always play sick like the others and then jump the nurses. Maybe once outside these walls, our powers would come back."
It seems Bast hadn't just spent his time colouring and coveting glitter glue. Trailing along happily behind Yazoo, he glanced up at the man's face, wanting to see if the remnant approved or not.

Their way became blocked by a young, blue-haired boy. Well, blocked as much as someone of Leon's small stature could manage, anyway. He held out both arms to cover a larger amount of space.
"Excuse me!" he swallowed. "Excuse me! Can I, uh, ask you.... I'm looking for some friends of mine! You might have seen them...?" He considered asking the silver-haired man's origin. Now that he thought about it, he hadn't seen a single person here yet with the long pointed ears of a Nedian. But if this man was a Heraldry user, where were they, really? It couldn't be Expel.. could it?
He put those thoughts aside for now. There were more important matters. "One is blond - his name's Claude. Then there's Rena - she has blue hair and a crescent moon barrette... have you seen either?" It all came out rather fast. He was desperate that they not walk away before he got a couple questions in.

Since Leon was speaking up for them so well and with such fervor, Xelloss restrained his own greeting to a very polite smile and wave, perfectly visible over the top of Leon's head.

He gave the door behind him once last glance before walking over to the staff research and medical reference library, examining the lock on the door while he listened to the other man talk. He would nod or make little remarks where appropriate, but otherwise waited until Bast was finished before giving his own input. “I attacked my nurse a couple of days ago,” he said, abandoning the lock. He walked back over and stopped in front of Bast, his arms crossing loosely over his torso. “Got sedated and didn’t come to until the next day. My brothers weren’t very happy about it.”
He frowned slightly as he murmured that last part, but with a miniscule shake of his head turned his thoughts over to the rest of what Bast had said. He had to hand it to the guy, the plan was interesting. But he couldn’t help but think of it as somewhat false hope. If it were that easy to get out of the institution, then he wouldn’t be standing here having this conversation. Still, it was something to mull over, and perhaps even develop further.
He gave the other man a smirk and a nod of approval. “We should meet up at breakfast. I could introduce you to my brothers and you could introduce us to the potion-maker. A pause, then, “Sound good to you?” He allowed a few seconds for Bast to answer before pointing to the hallway he had just been in. “Let’s try that hallway. See if we can find anything interesting.”
But the way back to the corridor suddenly became blocked a small boy with blue hair asking them if they had seen his friends. He gave Xelloss a nod in greeting before thinking over Leon’s questions. The only blond he had ever met whose name began with a ‘c’ and ‘l’ was Cloud. As for the blue-haired with the barrett…
“No, sorry," he answered with a shake of his head. "I haven’t seen them."

He nodded to the attacking the nurse part, his thin lips turning down in a sympathetic grimace. "I didn't get sedated. They just locked me in my room. I don't know if I'd like being all sleepy most of the time."
A sleepy Bast might be a good thing for Landel's on the whole. Would surely head a lot of problems off at the past.
"That sound wonderful, Yazoo! Severus is sure to love meeting some people!"
Yeeahhh. And the sky might turn to raining puppies and rainbows tomorrow.
When he found their way blocked, Bast watched these two people with his usual open and guileless look, as if he hadn't been talking about executing ninety percent of Landel's population a few minutes ago. He shook his head as well to them. He hadn't seen anyone with blue hair, and the only blond he had met was Youji.
"I don't either. Youji has blond hair, but he knows plants. I've never met someone with blue hair that did Transfigure it that way. Green was in when I went to school."

"Well... what about Precis? Her hair is long and sort of red-brown... often has a little mechanical friend? Or Ashton! He has two, ah, dragons on his back. Dark brown hair... headband... Or a woman with light violet hair that dresses oddly? That would be Celine."
Of course if they hadn't seen any of these people, he might come across as a bit silly. It wasn't his fault he had odd friends!

The idea of dragons on the back still gave him a little shudder. Particularly if they were the more intelligent, talking sort. The nagging alone...

Yazoo looked over at Bast with a curiously raised eyebrow before tuning his attention back onto Leon. He’d ask about it later. He listened to more descriptions of Leon’s friends, but once again, nothing was ringing a bell. Well, the long red-brown hair sounded like someone he knew, but her name wasn’t Precis.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized with an almost sympathetic look on his face, “but I haven’t seen them either.” He hadn’t really been planning to say anything else after that point, but after about a few seconds of going quiet, he added, “I hope you find them.”
Yazoo being considerate was very rare when it came to anyone outside of the family, but that didn’t mean that it never happened.
His attention then turned over to Xelloss’s expression of gratitude, and he couldn’t help but smirk slightly in response. “Don’t mention it,” he replied easily, raising his shoulders in a shrug.

What a world it was when someone figured Yazoo was safer than everyone else.
"The only dragons I know of are in Gringott's although they said there was some at the Triwizard Tourney that almost ate Harry Potter. Probably would have given it a terrible stomacheache if it had."
Shrugging, Bast scratched his temple with the tip of his glowing wand again. The firefly light didn't waver in the least, probably why he had been allowed to keep it. Flashlights were beyond his scope to grasp or make work, not to mention that they would have upset him quite a bit. Most Muggle things did.
"I hope you find them. Lots of people are missing though. The Dark Lord isn't here. Bellatrix, Rodolphus, Lucius, and all the others are missing too except for Severus. At least the blood traitors and Muggle-lovers didn't make it here. Maybe they'll show up eventually?"
Bast tried to sound hopeful. He honestly didn't care about anyone else except for Rodolphus though. After all, they were the only 'real' people, right?
