Nightshift 25: Entry Room

( From Here)

Well, this room was ugly, Jack decided. He shined the light over the carpeting. Brown. With blue walls. He was no decorator, but he already knew he didn't like THIS place. He walked between the two desks and made his way to the door in front of him. He tried the knob, knowing it would be locked. Still, one could hope for a negligent caretaker.

His next attempt was to knock the knob off with a well placed blow from the bat. Setting the flashlight down, he took the bat with both hands and pounded the best he could at the door. All that came from that was a dented bat and several loud bangs, which the Fable could have gone without. Given the size of this place, those who were able to hear the sounds probably wouldn't connect them to the entry room.

"Well, that sucks," he grumbled, looking the bat over. If only his right collarbone wasn't still healing- he would have totally broken that door down. He was JACK HORNER and no stupid mundy door was a match for him.

He scooped up his flashlight and turned his attention to the pair of desks. Maybe one of them had a key for this door. Or a paper clip or something he could try and pick the lock with. At any rate, it was probably easier to get into one of those than out the front door at this point. He approached one (the one in front of File Room 2) and looked it over. Seemed...desky.

"Fantastic," he sighed, going around the back of it. "Now, where would I find a key...?"
