Day 25: Intercom, Noon
The intercom jingle came on as it usually did, the Head Doctor's words somewhat garbled by the outdoor speakers.
"I hope that all our men got a fair amount of exercise today on the field and all our women had fun with potting plants. Such activities really work up an appetite, don't they? Which is why it's good that today we will be serving..."
He rustled through a few papers.
"Ah, here we go! A choice of chicken or beef chow mein will be the main course today, as well as fried or steamed rice and a salad. Drinks are the usual, and---oh, of course, a fortune cookie comes with each meal.
"Pardon me for my brevity, but we're still sorting out that paperwork. I hope you all enjoy your meal!"
