"You know, Doctor Landel, you really should cheer up some. All that doom and gloom can't be good for you or your digestion. There's this called disassociation that you could try sometime. I think you're really making too much of this thing with Jack. Move on with life! You have a wonderful institute, a caring staff who never run out of cookies ( Read more... )

[coming from here]

Silent steps falling quickly, Aya made his way efficiently to Bast, avoiding the spot of the flashlight so he wouldn't lose whatever little there was of his night vision.

Stopping beside the man, he made good use of all the twenty centimeters of height difference and stared darkly down at the blond. "Bast." It hardly was a greeting, breathed in tones of exasperation and slight annoyance. "Make sure this is the last time you're shouting my name at the hallways."

"S'okay," Ravi replied, waving his free hand before he headed after Aya, turning into that direction instead of the hallway where he'd been planning to go. Sticking together for now seemed like a good idea and a detour wasn't that big a deal.

It didn't sound like Aya was too keen on meeting up with whoever it was that was yelling for him in this hallway, though.

Ravi stopped when it looked like they'd reached the owner of the shouting voice - and that was confirmed when Aya spoke up to address the stranger.

Bast, huh? Like the Egyptian goddess?

Bast lifted his wand a little higher to peer at where Aya's voice had come from, the firefly light at that tip of it dimming a little. Rabastan himself didn't look too upset or bothered by Aya's tone, taking it all in stride as the small man did everything when someone got snappish with him. He gazed up at the much taller man with all the good cheer of someone about to go on a camping trip versus running around a spooky insane asylum that was crawling with monsters. Weird that he'd been out here the whole time shouting up and down the hallway with his wand lit and nothing found him yet ( ... )

"You should stay silent on the hallways. You don't want to attract any extra attention." Aya sighed, shifted weight from one foot to another, and finally rubbed fingers over his twitchy brows. Nothing good would come out of crowing his name around the hallways like this. He half felt like giving Bast a good solid smack for his stupidity but for some reason the wizard had a way of getting around Aya's temper, and he only ended up giving him a half hearted glare ( ... )
