Nightshift 60: Medical Wing Hall

[ from here ]if Erika was hoping that going further into the Medical Wing would offer her some guidance as to where to go next, she would have been extremely disappointed when she stepped into the empty space and found nothing but more doors and hallways to greet her. It was probably a good thing that she wasn't expecting much of anything out of ( Read more... )

It looked like Zero was very willing to take the initiative, which was good because Erika was honestly approaching this little side expedition as a break after spending so much energy pursuing the rest of this place's secrets for seemingly nothing. Or maybe she was still butthurt about being ditched by Sync, but she couldn't be expecting too much out of that useless lout. Maybe he somehow got himself killed or removed from the place between last night and tonight, so she had to consider the permanent loss of her nightshift partner. He wasn't a loss, but that ring of his...

"Hm?" She shone her flashlight in the direction that Zero indicated, spotting the rusted locks quickly. Ah, yes, that would be a good decision to make and Erika followed behind obediently, resisting the urge to chew on the remnants of her lollipop; the crunching might have been too audible in this silent space and they were already in an area with too many blind spots.

A pity, she liked the lemon flavored ones.

"That sounds like a good idea," Erika nodded approvingly, and then she stood there and waited. Her hands were quite full, and Zero did a good job on the first set of rusted locks, so there was no reason to get in his way now, right?

Once again, Erika would be thankful to know that Zero was prepared to handle the door himself and, in fact, preferred it this way. Not that he didn't think Erika couldn't handle the door, too - although how she would do it with that bowl she just had to steal for some reason would be a mystery - but he wanted the physical exercise. The more opportunities he got to help keep this body in good shape and get him used to its limits, the better. So here goes nothing.

This time the door was much more kind, snapping open with only one good kick. That was easy enough...and now they were in.
