Night 60: M11-M20 Hallway

Dec 18, 2011 19:57

Spending the day sleeping wouldn't've been his choice--not that the nurses had woken him up to ask him--but Indy had to admit he'd needed it. When he got up to check the bulletin board, he found he could walk at a normal pace with tolerable pain. His chest was still swathed in bandages about an inch thick (he didn't even want to know what it looked ( Read more... )

It must have been nice for you all, having a fleeting taste of your full powers and the freedom to use them as you wish. I do hope you enjoyed it, because I'll make sure you never, ever experience it again as long as I'm alive and in charge of this institute."Tch." Kratos scowled as he pushed back his chair and stood up to begin changing into his proper uniform. Hearing that ought not to have irritated him so, but the words, he grudgingly admitted to himself, had struck a nerve. Last night had been like an awakening of sorts, even though the Crystal had numbed everything. It had been a return to the way things were and the way things were supposed to be; as accustomed as he was to being fully and truly human now, he had spent a far longer time as someone who was not, and so it had been in some ways comforting to return to that state of mild apathy and boredom ( ... )

Tolten didn't know what to think after dinner.

Between Renji and Kratos, the young king decided he'd received more information this very day than in all his days at the institute. But what on earth to do with it? When night fell - and Kratos had slipped out already - he changed into the army uniform and took up his pipe. He had to do something, and tonight he wasn't bound by promises to anyone else. Not that he looked ill upon that, simply...

Perhaps he could do something for his friends. He was gaining a small number of them now, and he wished with all of his being to lift some of their darkness. If his great ancestor was kind, he would do so!

Determined and feeling as certain as he could, Tolten headed out into the night.

Badd spent dinner praying that he wouldn't be taken away again. Not tonight. Not after he'd just realized what an idiot he'd been. The moment the lights went down he was out of the door like a shot, making a run for Byrne's room.

He'd put his partner through far too much to make him spend one more night waiting.

For once, Mikado wasn't uncomfortable when the doors unlocked. He had something that he wanted to set out to accomplish, and in that vein, he needed to move assertively. Something that was more known to his online self that his real-life one, but he had to move on his own. He couldn't rely on others forever--here, especially, he was more or less on his own, and he needed to move proactively.

To that, Mikado changed into his street clothes, took his flashlight in hand, and went out into the hall without delay.

Edgar remained at his desk as the intercom clicked off, processing all that was revealed. Landel certainly sounded cocky for a man who'd been forcibly removed only days before, which still raised the question of why he'd allowed that to happen at all if he was so powerful. By his own admittance, the strange events of last night were clarified: the patients had indeed gained their powers back temporarily, and it was at the hands of at traitor within the military's ranks. Landel had some way to suppress them, but apparently no way to unleash that hold while he was away. Another point of interest was his contempt for losing her- her who? The Jill from the radio? It made a degree of sense ( ... )
