It was morning ... and the nurses were back. Bella didn't know what to think as she was led down the hallway and towards the Sun Room, looking at the nurse who strolled by her side out of the corner of her eye. Where the hell had she come from? Had she missed something? She had to have, considering she was now wearing her old uniform (if you could call it that.) and was being led around by a cheerful nurse lady ( ... )

sorry for the late, bb! the weekend ate me ;_; loyalrose December 5 2011, 14:25:53 UTC
Rose had wandered into the Sunroom to soak up a bit of the sun, needing it more today than ever. Impatience and frustration crawled under her skin, feeling trapped and confined once more after the taste of reality they'd all gotten last night. Forced back into a human body today...

It was disheartening, to say the least.

She was wandering past the bulletin board when she heard someone mumble something near by and glanced over to see a girl she'd met before. She searched her memory for the right name and came up with it with a smile as she stepped up behind the girl silently.

"Anything interesting on there this morning?" she asked with a wry smile, peering over Bella's shoulder.

At the sound of a familiar voice, Bella turned and looked at Rose, blinking in surprise before giving the woman a smile and a shrug of her shoulders, turning her eyes once again back to the bulletin board in front of her. "Hmm, nothing really. Just things I don't understand."

And no notice from Edward. She was sure he was okay. He had to be.

Turning on her heels, the teenager looked up at Rose with a curious smile. "How was your night? Hopefully nothing tried to ... you know. Eat you or something equally as unpleasant."

"Plenty of things, actually," Rose answered with a wry quirk of her lips, tucking her hands in the pockets of her robe she'd donned over the pajamas they'd left them in for the day. Odd, that.

"The hallways seemed filled with them last night, but that's alright, I've seen worse." She cast Bella a curious look, cocking her head to the side curiously. "How about you? Was your night alright?"

"Ah, I figured as much. Not like there's really anything we can do to not be attacked. Even the rooms aren't safe," a pause. "Most of the time."

After all, how could she forget about those horrid shadows those many nights ago? Sure, it was in the past, but it just proved that no matter what, no matter where you thought you were safe ... sometimes you just. Weren't. Bella didn't want to think about that again, but.

"Seen worse?" she parroted with a quirk of her eyebrow. "You're kidding. Where are you from, exactly? I want to know because that way I can make sure to never go there." A joke, of course, since Forks was ... well, full of all kinds of deadly things, but Rose didn't have to know about that. Ever.

"But my night was fine," she said with a shrug. "Met up with someone who I trusted to keep me safe, so. What about you? You weren't alone, right?"

"All over, actually," Rose admitted with a shrug, hedging a real answer about where she was from. Technically the answer was 'no where' anymore and had been, for a very long time. It was hard to say you were 'from' a place when you never spent more than a week or two in any location.

Still, with her strength back, the monsters from last night had been almost easy, although quite numerous. And as long as none of them had been wolves, she hadn't been overly worried. After that particular encounter, Rose wasn't sure anything would ever scare her that badly again.

Then again, she didn't exactly want to test that theory, either.

"Good, I'm glad you were with someone you trusted," Rose changed the subject with a warm smile, shifting to lean against the wall beside the bulletin board. "I found someone I'd met before and we both stumbled across someone new, so no, I was far from alone."

"Oh," Bella said lamely at the admittance of coming from "all over". "Well, I guess I'll have to take my chances, then. Since I can't just stay in one place for the rest of my life."

Especially after she was changed. Wasn't that was the Cullens already did? Move from place to place so others didn't notice that they never aged and remained young. They'd have to do that in ... what. A few years? Months? She didn't understand how it all worked, but she would. Sooner or later.

"I'm glad you found someone you knew from before, then," she said with a smile. "I know last time we spoke you said you found people you knew from home, so. Did you see them again?"

"Some people do," Rose countered with a laugh at the expression that crossed Bella's face. "I think it depends on who you are. I've known people who've never traveled farther than fifty miles from the place where they were born, not in their entire life. Although personally, I can't imagine that. I've moved around for so long that it's hard to imagine life any other way." Not that she didn't want to try and settle down for longer than a few weeks. Of course, that hadn't gone so well recently...

Which of course led right into Bella's next question. She returned the girl's smile with an absent glance around her. "Yes, there are a few of them here," she admitted. "I haven't had a chance to see them again, no, not for a day or so, although I've seen them about." Although not today. She'd been a little distracted at breakfast. Rose hoped they were alright, wherever they were. She found herself missing them. "I'm sure Damon's been getting them into trouble of some sort," she added wryly, not really thinking about what she was saying.
