Kirk ran into the main hallway and found nothing there except more pink light coating everything. His gut feeling said that if something was happening, it should've happened already, but he was a loss to explain what was going on. The system (if he could call it that, vague as it was to describe the whole Landel's torture/

One would have to wonder if the Digimon genuinely forgot in all of the shifts of the institute that Byrne was nothing but a nothing human, or if the heightened spirits of gaining back part of what was hers added a playful edge into the mix. Though Renamon was not often forgetful, and the latter of those options had been done before.... A digression.
She lowered her head as if in apology, in an attempt for shadows to mask the small grin she wore. Though the near-begging had her in silent agreement not to repeat the option--at least, not on purpose. Bryne continued to stammer for a moment, and when he finally stopped, she tilted her head back up, lips quirking. "Things have shifted somewhat tonight," she said by way of explanation. Then she gave a low chuckle, something she hadn't done in the man's presence before. If nothing else, it seemed her spirits were high.
She blinked at him near coyly, then continued. "And I told you, didn't I? That I would show you a few things impossible under human limitations." She raised an eyebrow in warning, and vanished entirely. Only to return in a moment's time, in the exact same place she had been. For Tear or Nigredo, and for more than a few others, she would have crept around to surprise them from a different position. But she had gave consent, be it not verbal, and she would rather not the man have a heart attack when she was trying to see that he survived the night.

..... Holy shit. She can just appear out of nowhere. Byrne momentarily forgot all of his manners and proceeded to gawk at Renamon as if he were a kid watching a magician, almost unable to believe his eyes - 'almost' only because a week in this place was enough to make a person believe in practically anything. She could appear out of nowhere. She could really appear out of nowhere. Teleport, or something. Didn't matter whatever it was technically called, she could really do it.
Well, sure, he had been told by many different patients, Renamon especially, that the impossible happened fairly often around here. But--but it didn't really hit you or become cemented into your mind as the truth until you actually saw it happen before your own eyes, as Byrne was seeing now. As much as Renamon was in good spirits, the prosecutor was just downright shocked.
"Y-yes, but... But how are you doing that?!" he gasped, blinking. She said 'things have shifted somewhat tonight' - did that mean something related to this weird pink glow was giving everyone superpowers? Or did she always have this ability?

She came to a decision, then. The man was too human to leave on his own. Even if she was going to Doyleton, he would be better off with her as a guard than alone. "It's a question as easily answered as how do we breathe, and why do hearts continue to beat. This, at least, is something inherent to myself. I can't tell you the science behind it any more than any other biological process. I don't have the experience in the subject to explain."
Other things... Perhaps. The fact of being Digital, and if she had gained back other abilities as well within this night. Those could be explained--and would need to be, if they came to light. But this was something just her, and she could not more explain it than she could the reasons how she was now human. The Digimon closed her eyes somewhat, senses picking up the faint sounds of creatures rousing themselves from Tear's spell. There wasn't much time, at least. "Are you meeting someone, Byrne? Or would you like me to show you something else?"

Byrne finally began to recover from his shock, nodding in understanding, but remained heavily confused. It's always been her power? Really? If Renamon had always had the ability to scare the living shit out of people teleport like that, then why wasn't she using it during the day? Wouldn't it be really useful to take advantage of that power to escape or something? Then again, the Institute probably had some way to prevent something like that from happening. Besides, if it were that easy to escape, then Byrne was sure she wouldn't still be here.
Now he wanted to know how she got such an ability to begin with. What kind of person was born with the ability to teleport? It was probably rude to ask, though. Or maybe she didn't know.
Then the other patient asked him about his plans, and his attention shifted back to what he'd been worrying about earlier, his gaze lowering to the floor. Badd. "Well, uh, not really. I was looking for my friend, but I can't find him anywhere." Because he's avoiding me like a dumb stupid paranoid idiotic irresponsible...
No. In the end, Byrne had to admit to himself that he couldn't really blame Badd for his actions. If he had been in Badd's situation, he would be terrified of inadvertently putting his friend in danger, too. And if he'd heard Badd say he didn't care about being dead, well, the prosecutor would get pissed off at him, too. It was all understandable. Didn't mean he liked it, but since when had any situation ever been likeable around here?
Sigh. "I think he had other plans, anyway." Plans Byrne vaguely remembered from the bulletin board, something to do with Lana. As long as he wasn't alone. "I was just worried about him because of all the alarms."

That said, she watched the man again. He hadn't actually answered her second query. "Do you want to come with me tonight?" she asked, somewhat kindly. "I won't allow anything to harm you as much as I am able."

The prosecutor looked back up at Renamon when she asked her question and, after pausing to think it over for a brief moment, nodded his head in agreement. "Alright." With one mild objection, that he only made clear through a worried expression. She wouldn't allow any harm to come to him? No offense, but shouldn't that be his job? He was obviously older than she was, and even though he wasn't a fighter, he was at least knowledgeable enough to know how to use a gun properly. If it had to be one of them that got mauled by a hideous monster, he would rather it be him.
...A thought relating to his death then crossed his mind, but he forced himself to drop it instantly. No. Can't think about that after that argument with Badd. Back to reality, Faraday. He shifted his weight anxiously and looked at the other patient with curiosity. "Where to, though?" She seemed like she had a plan in mind.

As a reply, she delicately reached out and touched one of the man's hands. Her other hand slid into the pocket her ring was in and retrieved it, then pressed it firmly against the wall.
