Peter left the room thinking very deep thoughts. Most of which entailed speculation on the origins of the pink glow he had just been assaulted by. As much as he hated himself for it, he couldn't help but keep coming back to the Matrix. Maybe they just changed something. Turned the halls into mazes.

Guy had barely made it into the next hall when he realized that something had changed. It took him a second or two to work out what it was, but he remembered how it had felt in the coliseum that night and knew that it was the same thing. It was like fonons had suddenly been filtered into the air and also into his body, meaning that his ability to use them was back in place.
Of course, the fact that he related that to the arena fight meant that Guy saw this as a very bad sign. On the surface, getting his powers back was great, but what was the reasoning behind it? Why was it happening? It seemed like things had fallen out of the military's control, but was it really that simple?
Either way, this was something they were going to have to get to the bottom of, and fast. Guy paused in the hall, having to stop himself from just racing through the next door. Claude would find him here, and then he could see if this was something affecting all of them or just him.
Guy recalled that Claude had gotten his powers back the night before -- was this related to what had happened to him, or was it something different? It was impossible to know, but his friend might have some insights into the situation. He'd known about that device, after all. Either way, Guy employed his patience, keeping an eye on the hallway he knew Claude's room was located in.

Strangely enough, Claude felt a surge of energy run through his body as he left his room. The natural strength he'd worked so hard to develop during his powers coursed through his veins, lying in wait until he chose to harness it. It was even stronger than what he'd felt last night -- if anything, the sensation was more like what had happened in the coliseum. Either that was good...or very, very bad.
All the more reason to find Guy as soon as possible. With swords in both hands, Claude jogged through the hall, the light on top of his head bouncing with each hurried step. It was kind of distracting, and he imagined he probably looked kind of stupid right then, but at least he wouldn't be left in the dark tonight.
Soon, the beam illuminated Guy's form, and Claude let out a breath in relief. "Good, you're safe," he said in the way of greeting, slowing down as he approached him. By now, I.R.I.S. and the alarms had fallen silent, but that didn't make Claude feel much better. The walls and floor were still strangely glowing, for one thing...
"Do you feel any different, or is it just me again?" The words just tumbled out of his mouth, but Claude had already decided it was better to cut to the chase.

He also noticed that Claude was carrying two swords with him, though he only recognized one. He realized that the other one was probably going to be handed over to Luke, but Guy had never seen it before. He'd been expecting Claude to bring Ashton's sword, and now he had to wonder just how many his friend was hoarding -- and where had he even gotten them from?
Asking about that would need to wait, however, since Claude started off with a pertinent question. "I'm definitely feeling something this time around. I'm pretty sure I have full access to my sword Artes now." He didn't think he had to bring up the coliseum for Claude to get the picture. Both of them had seen the other fight at full strength, though they had also both been somewhat distracted at the time, to say the least.
"Do you have any idea why this happened?" he asked with a frown, searching the other man's face for answers. "Something to do with that device, maybe?" He knew that they needed to go find Anise, but he figured he could at least ask one question before they set off.

"I-I'm not exactly sure, but..." Claude briefly paused as he considered the bulletin notes he'd read earlier. "I'm not the only one who suddenly knew about that device last night. Turns out it was a side effect of some of those drugs. I'm starting to wonder if the military actually intended for that to happen, or if someone tried to sabotage them somehow."
After all, whatever was keeping their powers in check was obviously malfunctioning now. Judging from the urgent I.R.I.S. message a few minutes ago, the military had a serious problem on their hands.
But now wasn't the time to stand around and speculate about everything. That pink glow wasn't getting any fainter, and they had no idea what to expect for the rest of the night. "Anyway, do you know where Anise is supposed to be meeting us?" he asked, focusing on the matter at hand for now. "And what about Luke? Didn't he need us to deliver this sword to him?" Hopefully whatever was happening now hadn't scattered everyone too much.

Unfortunately, any thoughts of getting home were probably unfounded, seeing how they still hadn't figured out what technology had brought them to this place and time. Guy decided that he would keep that thought to himself, though. There was no point in depressing his friend, even though Claude had probably already come to that conclusion himself.
"Well, I guess we should do whatever we can with these abilities while we have them." Guy didn't know if the military was going to be able to restore that device, but it was probably best to assume that they were capable of it. That meant making the most of every second.
"I told Luke I'd meet him outside his block, which is the one south from here. Anise will probably find us along the way." He wasn't too worried about the girl, seeing how they had met up countless times already. She would probably make the safe decision and come find them. "Anyway, we'd better get going." Luke was probably pretty confused by this strange turn of events, so they needed to get to him as fast as possible. With that thought in mind, Guy quickly led them out the door.
