Displeasure and disappointment made for a formidable duo, and for a man who had habored both at one time or another, General Aguilar found the timing in this situation to be uncanny. Three failed missions and a traitor or two unaccounted for. One would think that would be enough. Combined with the information leak, however, the scales quickly tipped beyond their favor.
To say the Eagle was angry was an understatement. Only select military officers knew about the existence of the device. To have it slip through the cracks and into patient minds meant their mole was an individual trusted and close to his heart. This might have greatly narrowed the possibilities; however, that did little to ease the rage. No one liked having their subordinates turn against them, especially to counteract the purpose necessary for this world.
Therefore, as opposed to overseeing the rest of the day's projects, Aguilar had taken to examining the evidence himself at his office desk. Harrington had brought in a substantial number of records from his correspondance from the night before, but neither man who had spoken with 'Rosemary' had bothered to appear. One might have taken this as a sign of failure; he, on the other hand, remained unconvinced. There existed a connecting point to find. Aguilar was more certain of this than anything else.
Which was also why he had called his second-in-command, who was due to arrive at any moment.
