The lobby area looked as much as it had the previous night, although he did not stop again to draw comparisons between it and the Elemental Research Academy. His awe and curiosity had both been satisfied, so now it was simply business as usual. This part of

The front area was empty when Rita entered the room. Whoever had broken that lock must have already moved deeper into the wing.
Rita was still a bit miffed at Brook's earlier comment, and so she avoided looking at him as she moved to the center of the room, looking around. Aside from a disturbing message ('Are you a good patient'? Sounded like another sick joke.)
Moments later, the silence of the empty room was disrupted by the intercom buzzing to life. The voice that followed was Aguilar's, as he announced the existence of a traitor in the military. There were a few parts that were vague and seemed to be directed to a few specific people... and in the end, he was offering rewards to people with information.
"... Hmph," was all Rita had to say at first. There was more that she could say, but at the moment she felt oddly fatigued. Though it wasn't really the same as fatigue, but just... strange? "Rita-san!" he eventually called after her, entering into the Medical Wing with a louder voice than he would have liked. With the echo it sent back, he remembered how dangerous the hallways were and lowered his voice down, nearly settling into a whisper. "I'm sorry if I happened to upset you. That was not my intent at all. I just assumed since you were so pale..." his words trailed off as he peered down at her face, still finding it as white as he'd believed it was. Though she probably did not want to be told as much. "Ah, but palor doesn't always mean that you're scared!" he emphasized, turning his attention away - just in case she was sensitive about such things, "My whole body used to be white as a bone after all, and I was...!"
Well actually, he had been the biggest scaredy-cat to have ever been scared. But that was beside the point.
"Ah, maybe that's not the best example..." he mumbled, voice dropping yet again as he brought a hand up in thought. As he tried to think of a better example, nearly landing on Usopp and his darker shade of chicken-liverdness, the intercom came alive for everyone to hear. With the words exchanged, all Brook could think was, They're at it again.

"It's probably the drug's effect," she replied, feeling too ill to snap at him again for rambling so much about something so unimportant. Chances were that the paleness was hinting at a more severe ailment, but... There wasn't time to speculate. "Forget it. Let's keep moving," she insisted, leading the way into what appeared to be the main hall.
