((From

Of course, he'd passed through this hall several times during his reconnaissance assignments. The path to McCoy's quarters wasn't

Still no sign of people, not even the sounds of whispers or footsteps from down the hall. What was going on? Zero quickened his pace, keeping a sharp eye out for trouble while listening carefully for any sounds beside his own footsteps. So far, there was nothing. Just a giant empty hallway.
...These hallways couldn't be all of this place. What else was here? And what did the world look like outside the institute's walls? Zero had yet to be taken outside, and there were few windows besides the ones in the Sun Room. Where were all the Reploids, the other human civilizations, the Resistance? Too many questions, so few answers.
He kept moving along to the next hallway.

And here he was. That hadn't taken any longer than it normally did for him to reach the stairs, and so Sora wasn't surprised to see that he was the first one here. Riku should have had a chance of getting here around the same time as him, seeing how they were in the same block, but Sora wasn't going to blame his friend for being a little slower. With how often he was in and out of this place, it was no surprise that he wasn't used to things yet.
Besides, Sora wanted to be the first one here! It meant that he'd won the unspoken race that they had every night -- well, him and Kairi, at least.
Moving up next to the door that would lead out onto the field, Sora leaned against the wall and then turned his flashlight off to save battery power. He was hoping it wouldn't be too long before the others showed, since it was kind of a long walk to the forest. He'd only seen the very start of it last time, too -- there had to be so much to explore and see there!
[Waiting for Kairi and Riku.]

When Riku lifted up a short sword and showed it off, Sora's eyes widened for a moment. He knew how hard it was to find weapons like that here, but it seemed that it had been Riku's reward for taking those drugs last night. Maybe it really had been worth it, if Riku had gotten a sword out of it and didn't seem to have suffered any bad effects ( ... )

"He didn't," came her voice from the darkness. Kairi had seen her two friends from down the hall (she knew Sora's hair from anywhere.) and moved towards them with a small smile. "He told me you wanted to go outside, so I agreed and said I would go another night."
Joining the two boys, Kairi, while still holding her sword and her flashlight, placed her hands on her hips, glaring up at the two of them. "I had a feeling you two would meet over by the entrance closest to your own rooms! And you called me lazy," she said with a grin, shaking her head and letting out a melodramatic sigh. "Making a lady walk all this way by herself. The nerve! What kind of best friends are you two?"
She was kidding, of course. She didn't mind the traveling by herself. It was them who minded.
Kairi's eyes were drawn down towards the sword Riku held, and she tilted her head to the side to look down at it, her mouth forming an O before she spoke. "Oh! Did you find that in your room when you woke up?"

Having exited the patient block, Harvey realized that he was actually left with two options here. Even though his instinct was to head to the right like he always did, a small part of him wanted to throw all caution to the wind and go out onto the field and over the wall to go trudging through the wilderness. Except that he then remembered that all of the past times, he'd done that with Jones, and --
Yeah, it didn't seem like such a great idea anymore.
Was he going to be seeing the man's ghost at every turn? Not literally, of course, but it seemed far too easy to remind himself of Jones. He wished he could block it all out, but this time yesterday the guy had been breathing and talking and for the most part, he'd been perfectly fine. Just like that, everything had changed. Again.
Harvey shook his head and swung to the right, stalking down the hall. He couldn't keep thinking about that.

If he were to be completely honest here, he didn't really have much of a clue where to even start looking. He had no idea how big this building was, but it definitely gave the impression of being really damn huge. And he knew the place had at least two floors.
... That's right. The second floor. That was where people didn't tend to search. And that meant it was where they were most likely to hide stuff. So if they were holding people anywhere, it had to be up there, right? That had to be it. So that was where he'd start! He'd head upstairs. Snow had heard some rumor about it being guarded or something for security reasons, but he sure as hell didn't care. Just let them try and stand in his way.
Already familiar with how to get to some stairs that led up, he immediately rushed in that direction, throwing the door open and running straight through the darkness.

He pushed through the door at the end of the hall and stepped out into another unlit corridor. It was quiet here, too, save for the sound of voices somewhere further off. Nothing that concerned him, at any rate.
He turned from the doorway and walked towards the next, keeping up a brisk pace. The sooner he got this done with, the better.
