Night 58: M31-M40 Hallway

Sep 07, 2011 15:49

For some reason, the way that lights out came about was downright unsettling. He was used to a voice coming on to acknowledge that the day was over. Of course, his memories of this time of the day were all pretty fuzzy, seeing how it was right around now -- after dark -- that it all got really strange. In the day he could at least understand that ( Read more... )

[Time skipping from here after Ritsuka leaves.]Ippo knocked, but got no response as he stood there with his ear to the door. "Hello?" he asked loudly, hoping his voice would ring a bell. "I-It's Makunouchi." But there was no answer. Pulling his head away, he grabbed the door handle and opened the door as quietly as he could manage ( ... )

Silence from the intercom. Stefan listened hard, in case there was something else - a click, a breath - but he gave it only ten seconds before he was up, snatching the knife from his desk and advancing for the unlocked door. He stopped for just a second, looking back at his roommate. Michael. Stefan still didn't know what was going on with him. He was confused, obviously, somehow now thinking this was a normal mental institute, but...

It might as well have been the man's first night. Castiel, he hadn't been worried about. Whether he'd been also a detective or just crazy or something else entirely, Castiel had seemed able to take care of himself, but if Michael was deluded enough to think there was nothing out there... No. Stefan couldn't stay. Whether or not his roommate could deal with the night-time or not, his odds of survival would be much better out of the company of a hungry vampire.

Once out the door, out of sight from Michael, Stefan ran.

[Before Ippo shows up.]

When he'd returned to his room and Gamzee hadn't shown up, Ritsuka had lost his appetite. He supposed it would be good for Ippo at least, but Ritsuka couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. Last night someone had seen Gamzee turn into a ghost and then all day today he'd been missing. What if he really had died? But then...wouldn't Gamzee's things be gone? And wouldn't he have gotten a new roommate? His guard hadn't mentioned anything about losing a roommate or anyone being released and the guy was actually pretty good at keeping Ritsuka informed since his rank was so high. That didn't alleviate all of his fears, however, and if it hadn't been for his promise to Albedo, Ritsuka could have gone off to find some evidence that his roommate was still alive and well ( ... )

Quiet start to the night. Extra quiet for Gant. His roommate, Dexter, was gone throughout all of dinner. And his box was missing. That only meant one thing. The man was out of the institute. Good for him. Maybe he'd escaped, or maybe he now believed himself to be whatever his fake identity was. Either way, he was safe. Better that than dead ( ... )
