Day 24: Sun Room

Aidou was, above all, obstinate in his decision not to interact with any more idiotic people. Going outside to join the herd? Yeah, he'd just be asking for it in doing such a thing. So he chose the only other option given to him by his nurse - if not for being too smart to ignore the potential repercussions, he would've backhanded her long ago - ( Read more... )

HK didn't want to go outdoors. Too many meatbags had all been stampeding in that direction, and he was feeling quite sick of meatbags by this point. After an argument with the female guard, he was led into a room with transparent ceiling panels that let in the light of this system's star. He was led to a chair, in which he sat stiffly, not moving as the meatbag admonished him to behave. She left, and HK stared up through the transparisteel (at least he hoped it was at least as strong as transparisteel) panels. This system's star (This planet is named Earth? What kind of name is that?) seemed to be on the early side of it's middle phase- yellow, and still a fair amount of UV light, from what he could still detect with his limited spectrum.

Staring at it felt like two mining lasers were boring holes into his cranium via his pupils. He looked away from the light, his vision filled with strange pulsating purple and black splotches. His first internal reaction was alarm (Don't tell me meatbag eyes are this fragile!), but he stifled the urge to react and simply waited. The colored splotches eventually died, going down through a strange spectrum of dancing lights as they receded.

Couldn't I have received an owner's manual for this body? I want to contact technical support!
