Night 57: Front Desk (Medical Wing)

[from here]Unsurprisingly, the door opened with a twist of the handle and little pressure. The interior hidden behind a door long since locked--if they were to believe the blow-hard of a commander who had taken control--was quite large, dwarfing the sun room in comparison. Enclaves and doorways crept away from them, and Albedo was idly curious-- ( Read more... )

Ah. It was empty inside. Where had all the people gone, Vino wondered? From where he was, he could see what looked like a sort of reception desk area, and beyond that, several doors... wait, this place was familiar. So his "medical ward" really was the "medical wing," then!

Yes, Vino remembered this place, alright, though when he'd been here, the white board behind the front desk area hadn't had those words scrawled over it. Was he a good patient? What a weird question to ask. Strange. The blue, white, and gray scheme of the place was familiar as well, even in the semi-darkness.

Since he hadn't had a chance before, he steps over to the open door on his right, looking in. This must have been where all the nurses and doctors took time off, right? It certainly looked like it. In other words, it was empty, although comfortable-looking.

Really, hadn't there been a small line of people who had been heading here before he'd gone down that side hall? Where had they all gone?

Vino moved deeper into the medical wing, keeping his footsteps quiet and listening to any hint of a sound that might indicate any person's presence.

Vino passed by the front desk without a glance this time. There was nothing interesting there, after all. He noticed, though, that he still didn't see anyone on his way out. Ah well, some mysteries just couldn't be solved! (Or just weren't important enough to him to be solved at the moment.)
