He sat, rigid and focused, as the intercom came on. After what had been done to him here, he had little trust for this place or those in charge of it, even if the ownership had supposedly changed. What this person said sounded appealing, of course, which only made sense. What better way to gain the populace's trust than by telling them what they wanted to hear? By manipulating them into doing what they wanted with respect after harsh treatment? ZEX had done this himself, it was all too obvious. He wasn't about to fall for such talk so easily.
He doubted that there would truly be a reward for taking whatever it was that had been left in the medical wing. While they did seem intent on not outright killing their prisoners, he knew from personal experience that they did enjoy torture. So much like the Ilwrath, these humans, and in a reasonable world, he would not be able to make such an apt comparison. Whatever it was probably would have no benefit and horrific side-effects.
Regardless of what the stuff did, it was in a new place, a place that could likely hold clues as to what had been done to him here, and perhaps as to how he could get his body back, and that was worth investigating. And besides, he'd spent far too much time asleep. It was time for action.
ZEX got dressed in his uniform, feeling better almost immediately when it was on his skin, picked up his flashlight and his scalpel, and set out.
