Of course Stefan would've checked up on Wally. No surprises there after the guy had had a run-in with Damon, a fact Stefan no doubt had learned from Alaric. Damon's interest in Wally remained, but it hadn't been enough for him to go out of his way today to actually find him. Especially not since Rick had solved that little issue with his being, oh, you know. Less than 100% dead. Which Rick hadn't said per se, but he didn't have to. That it hadn't come up when they'd spoken meant it was taken care of.
As for that question.
Damon strolled up the steps, appearing for all intents and purposes as though they were anywhere but in a darkened stairwell. The only giveaway that something was wrong was his hand trailing along the railing for support. "People falling through ceilings, one temporary fatality-if you spoke to him, you know what happened. Unless you're expecting my Reader's Digest version of events to be more informative than the teacher's. Moral of the story: skip the Sun Room. You're not missing out."
At least he'd stopped being followed. What the hell kind of purpose had that even served? Because as far as he could see, it'd all amounted to little more than a nuisance.
He glanced sidelong at his brother. Obviously, they were looking for weapons. What did Stefan think they were going up here for? The annoying truth was, they'd be stupid to tackle any oversized house pets unarmed. He might not like the truth, but he wasn't about to ignore it.
"If I knew, Stefan, I would've been there long before. Like I said: last night was a miss," he replied. "So tonight, we're going up."
Beyond that, they'd see. The building was only marginally larger than their house; it shouldn't take too much time to go through most of the rooms on this floor. Provided nothing got in their way until they were actually looking for a bite to eat, but that went without saying.
