This wasn't happening. This absolutely wasn't happening. This was what she wanted to keep telling herself. What she was hearing, what she was told was too crazy and she was the clone of the guy standing right in front of her who's creator was a man who thought he had six arms. But the fact that they nixed their powers? No wonder her spider sense wasn't going off. It wasn't that she wasn't around any danger, it was probably because it was simply gone and realizing that was making her rather uneasy. Defenseless, was it was.

However, just as he mentioned his webbing, she knew immediately where his thoughts were jumping next and where his gaze was going and she shifted a little, staring down at her own fingers as well. She hadn't even contemplated using her web -- it was too open, what if someone saw? How much of his web fluid did he use then while he was here? But that was all debatable and she frowned before finally replying.

"I-- I didn't get a chance to --"

After a moment, she just shook her head and brought up her hands, fingers bent like she was going to start wallcrawling but upwards and it was like she could feel the spinnerets within her fingertips working, churning before thin strands of web started to emerge from within her skin. It was a slightly grotesque sight, but considering that this function was meant to only be on spiders, it's not very surprising.

"It -- it works, but Peter, I don't see how this is going to help." She said quickly as she proceeded to do away with what she made, touching her fingertips together and then pulling them apart, ripping the strands from her skin. But she couldn't think straight for the moment -- it was a liable excuse after all and as if this needed to be reiterated but she really didn't want to be here. Couldn't. Which was shy she was shifting uncomfortably again, gaze darting around wildly like a trapped animal. Her body was still tense, still ready to fight, and the only comfort right now was the fact that Peter was with her and even that wasn't much.

At least Jessica was here to voice the thoughts that were going on through Peter's head, whether she was realizing it or not. "Peter, do you realize how dumb that sounds?" She said almost immediately, frowning and still cleaning the remains of the web from her fingertips. "Why would they listen to us? It's not like we can exactly overpower them."

She didn't mean to sound cynical and rude but she was tired and frustrated and just wanted to go back to New York where things had some semblance of normalcy. She knew he was probably feeling hopeful, more than likely because of her arrival and the fact that her organic webbing hadn't been taken from her, but she was sitting in the role of devil's advocate because it was a silly idea.

However, her head was immediately jerking as more girls emerged from the rooms around them, gaze following their paths and taking in the details quickly, necessarily before her stare moved back to her genetic template. She was jumpy. Nervous. Every time a door opened, her heart seemed to pound in her ears but she couldn't show it. That moment where she had let her emotions through, almost breaking down into tears, she couldn't let that happen again, even if her stare was a tad too nervous, wary, and fearful.

"No, I haven't seen anyone like that." She didn't want to ask what was so wrong with being "released" though. At the very least, she knew how heartbreaking her words probably sounded though. "Sorry." She added as an afterthought.

"It's still a stupid idea. Basically, you guys would be going in there blind and would probably come out with your asses kicked. Or worse." She was crossing her arms now, almost staring him down despite the fact that her stare would still dart back and forth around her. She could, fortunately, wrap her mind around why he thought it was a good idea, but she had experiences that he didn't. She had reconnaissance and tracking and all of that under her belt, but as far as she knew, he didn't.

So she didn't exactly think going in guns blazing like that would ever be a good idea.

Still she shook her head, chewing on her lower lip, just as he did the same. "You'd be surprised on how much we can deal with in a day." The expression on her face seemed almost weary, but he should understand what she meant. After all, their first meeting involved everything possible that could happen and that was surely a lot worse than this, right? This was what she was trying to reassure herself with, despite the fact that it wasn't working very well. Or at all.

She was feeling antsy though. Caged. Contained. The look on her face seemed to almost brighten at his query, if only because she needed to get out of here. She needed to be moving, needed to be learning, and standing around wasn't going to help her escape. That was still her number one plan. She didn't expect to stay here long.

"Yes, please. I... We need to go." Jessica was reaching out to take his hand again, as if to pull him behind her when she stomped off, but she didn't. She didn't know where she was going and it was more of a comforting gesture for herself than anything else. She just wanted to be sure that if this was real, than he was too.
