It sounded like she was pretty new to things, which had been his guess from the start. He wasn't sure what she was getting at with the code name thing, except that he had run into some people with odd names here, so maybe it was just a reference to that. "Oh, the uniforms were worse before," he said once she'd finished. "We had to wear a gray shirt and sweatpants day in and day out. The button-up shirt is way better." As far as he was concerned, anyway. A teenage girl probably saw the two uniforms as equally bad, but at least he'd tried to make her see the bright side.
"You should definitely be careful at night, though. Try to get yourself a weapon as soon as you can. The recreational field has a shed that you can break into that has baseball bats in it. Do you know where the field is?" He wasn't sure of how new she was or how much she had seen, so he was going to have to take this slow.
