Day 56: Hearth and Home Handcrafted Furniture (late afternoon)

Their wanderings had led them across town, moving back over places Albedo had already been. A brother's slight shivering had the older of the pair steering them towards a close building, moving into the warmth the heated building offered. Such a demanding little thing, for being such a quiet individual. Albedo himself didn't mind the chill ( Read more... )

He welcomed warmth in nearly all its forms, and when the children ended up in another section of town, Nigredo was pleased with the results. Heat against his skin caused the boy to shiver pleasantly, to exhale in contentment. If only he had come alone, he might have sneaked in an hour or two of sleep. The temperature alone made him drowsy; having an avenue via the furnishings was just outright tempting him.

Fortunately (or otherwise), Albedo was with him, aura heightened in a way Nigredo couldn't like. The words, more so. The youngest suppressed a yawn and turned to the middle variant with vague interest as he pushed concern beneath the surface. "...We can talk," he said quietly. "What is it?"

Said simply, as if there wouldn't be repercussions. Alas. Albedo imagined that Nigredo's answer held an addition of, 'but please only speak if it's not something that has to do with trouble'. A meeting considered ironic and involving someone they knew could only point to one man. One unfortunate man--unfortunate for the sole reason of being associated with children who had issues. Still, the conversation could not be set aside. Klavier was a matter needed to be dealt with.

Nigredo watched Albedo for a long minute, expression unfathomable. Any number of things could have happened in that meeting, but the variant was not about to make assumptions. "And?"

Nothing to tell whether or not this was frowned on. Albedo sighed, reaching his arms up behind his head in an old gesture. Something he had almost lost in transition--a gesture that spoke of a lack of responsibility in the outcome that had occurred, a lack of understanding in the reasons why this was bad. "Hmm," he mused, looking towards the ceiling of the room.

Technically, with a give and take, nothing had happened, now had it? The largest transgression was that Albedo had touched the man, but he had not harmed Klavier, now had he? No, and it wasn't as if he was plotting to set the other up either. That was a bit beneath him by this point, after all. The cretin was a fool, and Klavier's downfall would be his own. However... If Albedo killed him out of rage, there was no class to it whatsoever. The point of this, then... Was to perhaps get the man to never speak that againHis eyes lost the light-hearted manner they had been in, and Albedo's expression tightened. "I would have killed him, I think," he said quietly. "Except I hated ( ... )
