Getting to check up on Neku had been good (even though Sora realized that he was the one who'd been approached, rather than doing the approaching), but when the buses finally made their way through the snow and into the town, the boy was completely distracted by the view that followed. It really did remind him of Christmastown. There were no lights

This time was different, though. He could actually take a pretty good guess at the why, what with how she kept trying to shake off the little flecks of snow that kept trying to cling to her hair. Which was... Okay, some part of him actually had to admit the sight of her doing that with so much annoyance was kind of...
He laughed suddenly, unable to hide how completely amused he was. Yeah, okay. That thought right there? That was going to be ~his little secret~.
"Hahahaha~! Really? So this's what was outside that you wanted me check out?" The thought would never have occurred to him at all. He'd assumed she'd wanted to take him somewhere cause she wanted him to help with something. Knowing this now though... it kind of seemed like she'd been going out of her way just to do something nice for him. And that must have been it because he couldn't conceive of any other reason why she'd want to show him something amazing like this. Now he felt flattered.
So he gave her a really big appreciative smile before looking back out over the town covered in the stuff. "Didn't even think they'd get snow down here. Wonder if it happens a lot. ...Everyone else seems kinda used to it." Excluding the kids who were playing around in it. But, you know. Kids. And stuff.

She briefly considered daring to ask someone they found here about Cocoon, but...
"It was warm, when we landed," she commented steadily, recognizing again reluctantly that she was referencing something he didn't know, "Really warm." Never mind the snow though, it had been a surprise to her to find it was so cold in the first place. She definitely had no concept of seasons, and so fortunately for her she dodged the bullet of getting the idea that it might have been long enough for summer to wane and winter to take over since the last time she remembered. Considering how many misconceptions she was already nursing about this whole situation, it was probably better she didn't have another stressor on her back.
"Makes you wonder... if fal'Cie are even in control of the weather here." That concept too, from a Cocoon-born person's point of view, was a bizarre one. Lightning still couldn't even begin to wrap her mind around how that was supposed to work- everyone knew that without even a few hours of supervision, the system inside of Cocoon would start to fall apart completely. An entire world left free to run wild? She certainly didn't know how big Gran Pulse was, but if nothing was in control, maybe it wasn't too surprising that it was hot and then absolutely frigid soon afterward.
A pause. "Let's not just stand here, though," she said abruptly, frowning and aiming a dark look in the general direction of the hovering soldiers-turned-hospital-staff. Even without the cold, her body called for movement. And standing still when they had a Pulse town to look at was just... a poor decision in general.

The question of whether fal'Cie control the weather here had never even occurred to him as something to mull over. Snow only knew as much about Pulse as anyone else did. It was supposed to be horrible and savage, with monsters crawling all over the place. The fal'Cie were also said to not really... help people in any way, though what that meant, he couldn't really guess. Would that mean that they wouldn't control weather? But if that was the case, then how was it even snowing?
He looked around the landscape again, suddenly looking confused. Actually, now that he was thinking about it... nothing about this place fit the image of what they'd been told about Pulse. It didn't look uninhabitable or desolate. There weren't any monsters to be seen, even out here in the open. And the town itself, despite being... well, weird-looking, looked pretty damn quiet and peaceful. It was almost kind of nice, actually. Nowhere near as active as Bodhum's streets, yeah, but it could be that everyone was inside. It was cold and all.
Snow followed Lightning's glare toward the disguised soldiers still hanging around. If nothing else, he could definitely agree to moving. Last thing he wanted was some nosy soldier sticking his damn nose in their conversation while they were trying to freaking talk. So he agreed with a short "Yeah" before walking off straight ahead. He had no idea where the hell he was walking off to but walking and talking was probably a good idea.
