Day 56: Doyleton, Early Morning

May 03, 2011 00:42

Though snowfall tipped the journey closer to the uncomfortable category, the buses managed the miles smoothly. They rounded the turn and pulled effortlessly into their usual spots, engines then settling to silence. Without another cue, the "staff" began preparations for the rest of the day. The doors were opened, and the patients were allowed to file out.

In the snow, Doyleton seemed nothing more than a picturesque winter town with its white frost and soft edges. There were very few townspeople in the streets this morning, and consequently, very few glares were aimed toward the visitors. The vandalism from two weeks ago was still relatively fresh in their minds, but it appeared the anger had lessened.

Perhaps this was due to the season. Prospects for business heightened around this time, and any money--even Landel's money--was a welcome sight.

And thus, morning began in Doyleton.
