Night 55: Room of Water

[From here.]

Any relief at escaping the Chamber of Wet Farts was short lived, as Peter was bodily blasted with a barrage of frigid air the moment he cracked open the door. He shuddered violently. Nothing about this boded well.

The next room was a mass of Arctic ice. He could feel his suit frosting over already, and he'd only stepped in a flat two seconds ago. "Oh come on!" Peter exclaimed, another shiver wracking his frame. Wasn't it bad enough that they made them walk through a refrigerator to get here? The dew lines on his lenses had seemingly frozen on impact. Peter grumbled to himself and lifted the mask over his mouth, breathing on his hands and rubbing at the glass with minutely heated hands. "Is anybody else sensing a theme here? Because if the next room is liquid magma and that frigging turtle thing from Mario is in there waiting for us, I am done. Finito. Nothing else could possibly be more ridiculous."

They were running through every conceivable level of Mario Kart there was. Why not just send in the Koopas and get this aching embarrassment over with? He didn't even care that he was thinking about the fiction thing again. Screw it. If the people in charge were going to be jerkwads about it and start hauling in two dimensional plumbers, he reserved the right to be pissed. That wasn't even trying to take their lives seriously.

The challenge to this room was just as immediate as the other two. In the entirety of his vision, all Peter could see was ice, ice spikes, and a million popsicle-coloured reflections of himself in every direction. He squinted at the sight, quietly stepping forward to see if a path opened nearby.

No such luck. But he did find the wall - ice slab. Thing. It was half an inch from his shoulder. Peter patted it to be certain, feeling along the edge. It felt like it extended for a bit further, but it was hard to tell with all the reflections.

"I'm guessing we're just following the wall again." He gave a worldly sigh and sobered up. It wasn't like he'd been expecting this to be easy. Luckily they'd only had to deal with nature's hatred so far. They could have been ambushed by bear-bots.
