Secrets were ugly facts of life, but they were fact nonetheless. So few recognized them for what they were anymore, choosing to bury them or ignore them. It was foolish to expect to come across a single person in this facility that could honestly maintain that they were without any form of regret or trouble - and even more difficult to find one who would come forward with those troubles, those sweet regrets, the tasty truth beneath their lying smiles. The subject was no stranger to the ideas being called into question on this night - as one who kept such delectable truths so easily hidden himself - something that even he had to applaud as he paced, making sure the subject was secure in the straps. A man who had spent so much time hiding himself from the world...
However. Tonight there would be no hiding. This scientist was not a fan of lies - nor of smiles.
But as he gathered his syringes and vials, the tools of his trade, a smile played upon his lips with an eerie delight. Such an expression seemed out of place, given the cold air surrounding him, but no matter; there was nothing wrong with enjoying his work.
After all, there was no need to hide it.
