"Well, I'm so glad this place is above melodrama..." Asuka commented after the intercom had its say. She looked to her roommate for reaction, but Tear was not really paying attention to her. Not that she minded. Asuka appreciated quiet and quiet people. There was nothing worse in life than a talkative woman, especially the ones who just had to yap. Nothing they said was vital, they simply needed to in order to ease the tension of silence. Some people were not too adjusted to entertaining themselves, and God it was just pathetic. If someone was going to talk, it would always be her. She always had something intelligent to say.
So, in the quiet, the eva pilot slid off her bed and got ready. When someone pounded on the door, Asuka watched Tear answer it without much interest. The first thing she did was grab her radio. Every night she forgot, but this time it would be different. A leader wasn't very good if he or she couldn't remember a something as simple as a checklist. Her bat was now mandatory. After last night's train wreck, there was no way she would ever leave her room without some kind of protection.
Her attention briefly drifted to the door where Tear and her guest continued to talk. She could see little of the patient, only pigtails and a young voice. Well, whatever. She had her own colleague to meet up with, and tardiness was very frowned upon. So, red jersey and a military-issued winter coat later, Asuka was ready to go adventuring or whatever Okita wanted of her. It wasn't key-matching like she had volunteered for, but...
