His flashlight was the first thing that breached the doorway. With one hand, he frantically flicked it from side to side. Nothing grabbed him, so his head was the next thing to peak outside. It was pitch black and nothing, from what he could hear, lurked within it. Occasionally a door creaked before footsteps clopped down the corridor. Other patients seemed unafraid of the night, moving so briskly, so Ippo mustered up the courage as well. If anything, they were making more noise than he. They would be the ones to fall first if... the unthinkable happened. Which it wouldn't, since monsters didn't exist! A few psychotic patients were not going to convince him so easily!
But just in case! Justin case, the boxer stayed very, very quiet. He displaced his weight carefully from foot to foot so his sneakers would make only the smallest amount of sounds. His flashlight was sort of a dead give away, but like hell would he give up his last security!
At the rate he was going, though, Ippo was sure Ritsuka would be gone before he got there. And then his dreams of eating real food will leave with him!
So, besides monsters and violent mental patients, the boxer wasn't sure where the hell M35 was. The door numbers were ascending as he walked along. The last one was 60. Picking left, he discovered the next hallway ended with 50. Okay, they were in order. But it ended with that row. There was only wall standing in front of him now.
Alright, well... Ristuka had to be here somewhere. Turning around, Ippo continued down the corridor, mindful of the numbers on the nearest rooms. For all his effort, Ippo found another door. With nothing to lose, the young man opened it and continued on his way, too distracted by his new problem to be scared.
