Awkwaaaaaaaard. After about five minutes of radio silence from the intercom, Peter was expecting to hear some heavy mouth breathing or other inappropriate stalker sound effects. Instead they heard nothing. And they continued to hear nothing until twilight hit

They didn't go back down his hall, at least, though as they did start down the closer one it became quite clear who they were meeting first. Snow would have stood out in a crowd because of his height, so when he was the only one lingering in the hallway it made him even that much easier to spot. Not to mention the fact that he had also altered his outfit. What, was that the new trend or something?
Lightning didn't even say anything, which gave Zack the idea that he was going to have to give an explanation himself. He nodded to the other man and offered a disarming smile. "Looks like I got to come along for the ride." Mainly because his other plans had fallen through and there was now the possibility of getting a weapon.
"So who did we need to meet up with next?" he asked, half-turning to Lightning since she seemed to be running the show.

It actually didn't cross his mind at all to ask why Zack had come along. For all he cared, both of them could have just left it be without any explanations and he would have just gone along with it, no questions asked. Zack had already said he knew Lightning, right? So what was weird about him walking around with her? It was only natural.
What he did find strange, though, was that they were going to bring along a fourth person. Three people, fine. But four people? That was one too many for a traveling party. This was starting to sound like they were going off to do something that required as many hands as possible. It was kind of exciting! And it made him wonder even more about what was outside. Had Lightning found The Eagle?! Was that what they were doing?! Yeees!!
"Hey, more the merrier, right?" he said to Zack, obviously excited by this new unexpected element. And like Zack, he looked at Lightning since he'd also figured that she was the one in the know here. "How many people we gathering for tonight?"

Not willing to just stand around and talk like what had been the group from the night before's downfall though, she took a half-step backwards, ready to try and get them moving again as soon as possible. Truthfully, it was annoying enough that she'd had to come that far down the hall at all.
"If I could pronounce his name I'd tell you," she answered, flat but loud enough that it likely carried all the way down the corridor. "But we're not taking him with us." At least, she definitely didn't plan on it. Kibitoshin hadn't seemed the type who would want to tag along with someone like her, anyway, especially if he was willing to pass off weapons without even trying to learn how to use them himself or something.
A sigh from the ex-soldier. "...He just offered me a couple of short swords and a knife."

But they were meeting someone with an unpronounceable name in order to get some weapons, huh? Zack had no problem with that plan, and he could only hope that the guy's room was close. He had to admit he was curious about how Lightning had gotten so lucky, since she didn't exactly have the most shining personality.
That was something he could ask on the way, though. Since Lightning hadn't made a move up or down the hall yet, he was going to assume that it wasn't in this hallway in particular. Which meant -- you guessed it! Back the way they'd come.
"Well, we'd better hurry up if we ever want to get outside," he said with a smirk as he spun on his heel and started back down the hall.
