Night 54: Pharmacy

[from here]

Ritsuka wasn't sure if the others had been here before, but he led the way. He just hoped nothing more would come at them tonight. Peter was injured and Albedo had demonstrated he was more than willing to kill someone to protect himself and others. The very idea of it was enough to turn Ritsuka's stomach more than the smell of burnt skin. People had been hurt, Albedo almost died, Peter couldn't feel it but his injury was severe - this was the result of people using violence to solve problems. If only they hadn't threatened the stranger, maybe he wouldn't have ended up with a bullet wound in his shoulder while his friends nearly died.

And for what?

So they could find themselves standing in front of an unassuming door with only a weak lock protecting the shelves of medicine and drugs behind it. Ritsuka pulled his backpack off and grabbed his flashlight out of it, putting the bag on the ground before he tested the handle of the door. As suspected it was locked, but he couldn't exactly ask Peter to break down the door. And he knew if he asked Albedo to do it, Peter would try instead because he was a fairly normal adult and asking kids to do what an 'adult should do' never sat well with adults.

Taking his flashlight, Ritsuka banged it down against the handle where it met the door. He didn't have much power behind his blows, but slowly and surely the thing began to give way until it snapped and Ritsuka almost dropped the flashlight. With the handle broken, it was easy to push the door open and reveal the room - dark and silent with tall circular cabinets standing like sentinels everywhere. He hoped this place had not only what they needed to treat Peter's burns, but also to help replenish what supplies Ritsuka (and Peter) were lacking.
