Stefan was a lot more like Edward than Venom had ever been - beyond the most obvious ways, too - but he didn't have the time. They hadn't been trying to

That was almost a promise that there would be something going on tonight, something that Claire would not be missing. This General Aguilar character was becoming more intriguing by the minute. Finding the man and having a talk didn't sound like a bad plan of action. In fact, Claire decided this would be his new goal now! Might as well, since Landel seemed to be out of the picture now.
Claire waved goodbye to Morgan, answering with a cheerful "Crepi!" (1) before his roommate headed out, the door clicking shut behind him. It was dark now, but Claire supposed he could learn to use this flashlight thing, right? He flicked it on, watching the small circle of light tremble and then cruise over his blankets as he steadied the torch in his hand and redirected it to point at his desk.
After considering his options for a while, Claire picked up the radio device, giving it a curious once-over again, just as he had the night before. Morgan had said something about the radio sometimes making announcements, right? Of the sort that Landel used to make in the daytime, right? He might as well bring it along, just in case it spewed out anything interesting. Claire thought about it bringing it with him tonight... then thought better of it and slipped it into the drawer that locked. Vino traveled light! If anything important or interesting were announced on the radio things, he'd probably be able to figure it out himself. Other people carried these things around, right? He could always just tag along with someone and catch the latest before continuing on his own.
He still had the pens in his pocket, and to Claire, this seemed adequate enough with his flashlight. Done preparing, he headed for the door, stepping out into the dark hallway. Most of his neighbors had probably already gone out and left while Claire had been taking his time. That suited Vino just fine.
He closed the door behind him, briefly wondering if he should lock it before remembering that he had left his key on top of his desk and shrugging, then turned to go on his way.
