[[from here]]The sound of other people grew louder as they neared a door. Someone else had come up here before, as evidenced by the slight shredding of the doorframe, but it had been shut and locked again ( Read more... )

Lee nodded, following Sasuke's actions. He hoped that they would find Takaya soon, before anything bad happened.

Still, he was a bit curious about Naoe and his origins, as well as Takaya's. It was bad enough that they had those weird names that the nurses called them, but Lee was starting to lose track of other names.

Quietly, he waited for the count of three, ready to move immediately and effeciently as he always did.

Naoe didn't so much as nod as slightly tilt his head. He braced himself again to break the door and wondered how much easier it would be with the added help of the other teenager.

Sasuke gave the count and charged, feeling the door give way easily under the impact. Sasuke frowned. Even if they had one extra body this time, the door shouldn't have opened this easily.

A quick examination revealed that the door had, in fact, been broken before -- kicked in or the like -- then locked again.

Which boded ill, regardless of the cause.

"There might be trouble," he muttered to the other two, then hefted the sword at his side again and moved in cautiously.

From here

Up the stairs, to new lands, new excitements, new baddies trying to bite at them. Ah the wonders of adventure were a marvel to behold, and with their scenery, it was hard not to enjoy the trip. But alas, Vergil was a bit too busy making sure he wasn't about to be killed by his new companions to note the endlessly gray environment. He figured that he had very little to fear from his new allies yet still, old habits die hard and Vergil had never been one for actually trusting his associates. That'd imply a degree of vulnerablity that he simply wouldn't except in his dealings.

With that in mind, he ascended watched the man leading the way while keeping a steady grip on his pipe. He chose to keep his weapon close to his heart for now, and his lips sealed tight.

Tifa stayed silent as she ascended the stairs with her new companions, keeping her eyes and ears open. This was familiar to her, easy - and she felt satisfted that she was actually doing something.

Once they reach the landing, Tifa peered into the darkness around her. The second floor was entirely new to her, and no one else in the group had really throughly explored it either.

"Why don't we split up into groups?" Tifa suggested. "We'll cover more ground that way."

Barret stopped once they came upon the second floor, surveying the blanket of darkness through the feeble light of the device of his fleshed hand. With a narrowed gaze, he looked over his companions with a calculating look, as if judging them ( ... )

Kasady could read that body language of the pipe-wielder well enough: alert for danger, didn't seem too inclined to be the trustin'-type. Not the serial killer's idea for an easy meal. They could take a punch or two, but getting hit with that pipe while they didn't have full protection or nearly run through with it wasn't their idea of a successful hunt.

Mr. T - on the other hand - seemed like an easier target. Somehow less wary. Muscles wouldn't save him if it came down to that versus the symbiote, but the hardest part was getting close enough to get their claws near him.

The rest kinda took care of itself, and it was just matter of choosing how to get that brain out: slow, messy, painful, or all of the above.

"Hey, uh, don't know if you've noticed, but I'm unarmed and scrawny as hell," and Kasady gave a very pointed look at the big guy. Anyone would be compared to him: the man was giving Venom a run for his money almost!

Hakkai had led them on a more or less straight path along the hallway. The extra light spilling over the balcony from the sunroom, little as it was, was helpful. Of course, it wasn't long before they were out of the open area and back into the enclosed hallways. Almost to the other stairs, in fact. They must be nearly above the patient rooms. Interesting.

He stopped short in front of the doorway he'd apparently been making his way toward. Damage never seemed to stay in this place from one night to the next, so the door had obviously been broken open numerous times tonight already. Odd. This place was obviously very popular, but why?

He shot a glance back at Sanzo, keeping his eyes on the dark doorway. A look that was as much asking for permission as checking whether Sanzo was okay with this. Perhaps he was merely being melodramatic, but the doorway in front of them seemed an important one to cross.

The monk had taken notice of the door nearly the same time that Hakkai had. It was one of the first signs he'd seen of the building actually taking damage during a nightshift.

It could easily be one of the creatures, but from the look of the break, that was doubtful. It was more likely one of the patients, but that didn't make the possibility of a threat any less. And there was obviously something in the vicinity that was valuable enough to expend this effort.

Sanzo met the look Hakkai shot at him. Despite the wandering, they were headed somewhere less than random. Something was definitely up, but whatever it was, the healer had the sense to pause, instead of running headlong ahead.

Sanzo just gave the smallest shrug in return. "You seem to have an idea of where you're going. Don't let me stop you."

Hakkai's smiles were many and varied. This particular one was slightly less calm than usual, though hardly indicative of any actual mood. "I usually have some idea of where I'm going, Sanzo. I just rarely know what might be waiting there for me."

He regarded the door warily for just another moment before walking through it. No time like the present, as they say.

((And heading over this way))

Naoe paused when they made it back to the door. He looked at Sasuke with a blank expression. If they boy was going to head in there, he better do it now.

Sasuke followed Yoshiaki's pace with ease, moving closer to the centre of the hall so that he could handle a frontal attack without the man in the way. Lee was behind them, and Sasuke expected that the Konoha-nin would know that his job was to watch for an attack from behind.

Sakura had been in the hallway. With Aidou and Alucard. Sasuke frowned, moving without acknowledgement of the party. If he wanted to work with the two 'vampires,' was he going to have to deal with Sakura?

Whatever. She was reasonable, and as long as Naruto didn't get dragged into the equation, Sasuke could handle it.

At any rate, there were more immediate matters at hand. The door was still broken, and Sasuke shifted his sword to iai before nodding briefly at the others and ghosting into the room, silent and rapid.
